On the Welsh Marches Route I have missing sections of track when I run a Scenario. So I filled in the Support form and included a picture of a place the track was missing. I got a reply back today which says "There are missing pieces of track where AI spawn markers are located. " I did not put that in my ticket. And the reply also says "We are very sorry to see that you are missing segments of track on the Welsh Marches route add-on. Please be assured that we are already tracking this issue thanks to previous player feedback. However, we do not have any further updates on progress at this time. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused." AND "Thank you for your bug submission. It has been logged for further investigation and this ticket will be closed." Rather poor of DTG - I cannot add any extra comments to the ticket or correct the mis-information on the ticket. Its a bit like the IT Helpdesk at a company I used to work at where every so often they would ring and ask if they could close down some outstanding tickets. If it had not been fixed then the answer was NO. DTG seem to close theirs down as it might bring down their statistics to leave them open. Peter
I don't think the track is actually missing, what i can guess is that the quick drive was probably cloned, which for some reason (I don't know why) "removes some track" in quick drive only - in the scenario itself it has track references in the scenario for parts of the route - and when cloning these are left blank. (I suspect that's the reason for it - I don't know for sure because i don't have the route to hand ) (I've had this before - it's a pain to find and fix, I discovered - after that i stopped using the clone tool for quick drives) Although that at least explains the locations of the missing track - i guess when you place a spawn point it adds that segment of track to the scenarioproperties in someway - which then gets messed up if you clone it. (again not 100% certain that's just me making a guess)
I may have seen your reply but I don't remember. I did not ignore it as I would like it fixed - hence my ticket to DTG
Coming out of Salop I notice the missing track at Sutton bridge Jn so I checked in the Editor and it is there. Reef spotted the problem and mentioned it in the Latest Sale thread https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/latest-sale.26955/page-45#post-694034
Umm, I've had exactly the same issue on Welsh Marches line with track sections going walkies even in scenarios.
I suspect that's meant as an answer, like Reef and Danny suggested as well. The wording could be a little better like AI spawn markers ... cause pieces of track to appear missing. I agree that the proper way would have been to merge the ticket. There is nothing new about DTG not supporting older content. Low effort reporting can be worth as sometimes they do. There being (over?) 1000 DLC it can be a bit difficult to prioritize and also scary to even look at the list. I accepted that like with an abusive relationship, there are ups and downs with them, essentially recommend the same.
I don't know if this reply has been spotted? https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/missing-tracks-on-the-welsh-marches.41518/#post-753426 I found an error in the Scenario Properties files on the Quick Drives - It might be the same for other scenarios https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/missing-tracks-on-the-welsh-marches.41518/#post-753606
I've explained it here why this happens . Each marker ribbon you're placing will store all tracks.bin properties for that ribbon section in ScenarioNetworkProperties.bin. That's why you should redo QD templates on cloned routes that are relying on different assets. My fix is to simply remove the trackrule properties from that file using Notepad++, TS will then use all information from the actual tracks.bin for the ribbon if it can't find the overrides in ScenarioNetworkProperties.bin. Or in short: Placing a marker will store parts of tracks.bin in the scenario, which may be incompatible with the cloned route. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/missing-tracks-on-the-welsh-marches.41518/#post-753426
