The best chance for an Indian route is to convince the developers from Fastline Games to do one for TSW.For me, India is my top 2nd choice for an Asian country in TSW after Japan. I think that the Vande Bharat Express also passes the Mumbai western line as well which will be a good addition to TSW.
Vande Bharat is pretty cool... one of the coolest aspects of Indian railways is that cos many lines are so in-demand by riders, the trains are of ridiculous length... like, in videos or so, it is not uncommon to see trains with like over 20 coaches ... so kinda freight-like length, but with people... also, some electrified routes have overhead wire at ridiculous height, since freight operators like to double stack their trains almost US style... so you can see those crazy-stacked freight trains, but with super-tall pantos in the air
Would certainly be something different, biggest issue probably licensing as while Indian stuff has been added to other sims (notably MSTS and the cloned games on the tablets) probably done without any form of permissions. At one time my understanding was railways in India are viewed as military installations so security considerations likely preclude any official permission to reproduce infrastructure and train operations in a sim. And even if developed by a third party, DTG aren't going to publish it without licencing and permissions.
I want to comment on a positive update about Indian routes in general. I was watching the TSW livestream and someone asked about Indian Routes and the answer was that DTG talked to a couple of 3rd party developers to do Indian content but not DTG themselves as they don't have the expertise on Indian railways.
also, it would be funny to have Indian freight in the game, on an electrified route... I mean, imagine double stacked US style freight train, but with a loco having a super-tall pantograph reaching for the wires
