The NS N-Line, which connects with the NS Atlanta-Washington Main in Salisbury, NC is an excellent branch line route. But all the same, I think we need another NS mainline. I think that depending on popularity of the NS N-Line, a portion of the Main from Linwood, NC to Spartanburg, SC should be added in the future. Or perhaps, the NS S-Line from Linwood, NC to Asheville, NC. Or if possible, I think the Main from Charlotte, NC to Danville, VA, plus the Amtrak Piedmont Route to Raleigh, NC should be added.
An NS SD80MAC, SD70ACe, Dash 8 or Dash 9, ES44AC or DC, ES40DC, or ET44AC could be good heavy freight engines. NS has a couple of 3GS21B Genset switchers. These could be included for switching. The new NS GP60 would also be great for this route.
