With the addition of the current northern transpennine route in TSW, this route definitely needs a polish. so today I’m suggesting the transpennine express route from Manchester Airport to York Route Map (Area Shown in Red) Trains included: Class 185 TPE (NEW) Class 802 TPE (Tweaked from The 801 from Doncaster) So the express 802 and double 185 servives stop at Oxford Road and Victoria before going straight onto Huddersfield where the service will end while the 3 car 185 services, start in Manchester Piccadillys terminating platforms, and will go all stops to York via Wakefield Kirkgate Stations; Manchester Airport Manchester Piccadilly Manchester Victoria Ashburys Guide Bridge Stalybridge Mossley Greenfield Marsden Slaithwaite Huddersfield Deighton Mirfield Wakefield Kirkgate Normanton Castleford York LAYERS: Class 390 (AI At Manchester Piccadilly) Class 323 (Playable Services Up to Guide Bridge) EMR 158 (AI at Piccadilly, maybe playable services from Oxford road) Class 66 (layering in some freight)
No need to worry about licensing, TPE is department for transport, for now at least. transpennine express is looking to go private again
do you really want to go via castleford on this route? right now its only a few a day and will only be hourly in december, it will be much better just to go through leeds and garforth. great suggestion tho
For me it'd need to be through Leeds but I don't see a reason why you couldn't have both via Leeds and Via Castleford. Perhaps a Northern class 158 or 195 for local services as opposed to the 802 since they aren't TPEs most recognised train.
A bit weird to go via Castleford instead of Leeds (Though I suppose we have the Northern TransPennine) But great suggestion! We could really do with a York route.
