Today, I am suggesting the G Train of the New York City Subway for TSW 2. More information can be found in this video. The G Line, commonly called the IND Crosstown Line (the former name) by railfans, runs between Court Square in Queens, and Church Avenue in Brooklyn. It runs for about 11 miles, and has 21 Stations. It is one of 3 single trunk lines in the system (the other two being the 7 and L Lines). While it is mostly underground, with two above ground stations, a lot of the stations are unique, with some having different mosaic designs, platform layouts, and services that stop there. This route has the possibility of including services from some other lines, like the A and C Lines at Hoyt-Schermerhorn Sts, and the F Line between Bergen St and Church Avenue. Depending on the time period, all of these lines would use the same rolling stock, requiring no additional rolling stock to be created. Rolling Stock The G Line uses two different types of rolling stock, the R46 and R68. The A & C Line could just use some of the R46’s, and if the route is set pre 2021, the F can too. Otherwise, the F would use R160’s. R46 R68 R160 What are your thoughts on this suggestion?
Excellent idea and if you R68 Alstom ANF G train R160A-2 R160B Alstom & Siemens G train those can layer onto BMT Broadway because the G train Shares Coney Island yard with N, Q & W trains. R46 G train layer to 8th ave Line becoming A train also pre CBTC Queens Blvd Line F & R Trains 6th ave F train. If you look at the interior of the R46 there's no window divider between the seat and the door.
