    Hello,

Admittedly, I've had Oakville Subdivision for quite a long time, but have only just started to like it a bit. In many timetable services, you have to fill the tank cars. Now I've noticed that the pumps for filling are always empty. Is really a pity, because I think it increases the degree of reality considerably, if you can and must load the cars manually with the hoses and machines. It's kind of wasted potential.

So is it really intentional that the oil tanks of the route are always empty?

  2. It makes for nice screenshots and it is a bit of a novelty. I like it.

I am not sure it will be addressed. Maybe a modder can come along and do some magic?

Apart from that enjoy what we have. I doubt this will get any attention unless for a route extension.

Thank you for your reply. I have finished now 3 Timetable Services in 2 of them was the task to load the tank Cars with the fluid.
Every time i have reached the load task Destination, the game tells you to wait 10 or 20 minutes. So I used the time and loaded each tank car manually with the available machines.

To my disappointment, I found that the pumps were always empty and so the tank cars afterwards also.
So start with empty wagons and back again with empty wagons. Too bad about the wasted potential.

Yeah, i hope someone can make a Mod, so that the tank cars can actually be fully loaded.

  4. I think a timetabled service it loads them automatically for you. Or something.

    No, it doesn't.
The AI cannot perform this complex loading task (they can only perform automatic aggregate loading/unloading), so it is 20minutes 'wait' instration in the timetable.

So if a human is playing the service, he can get out, and load the train manually. But sadly, it is not working, as the pumps look to be empty.

  6. Yes well the wait is the loading time.

FWIW I had a feeling that this was working in TSW2 & 3. Just drove "Petrochemical Chaos" on both versions and voilá, works like a charm at least in this scenario.

TSW2 (forgot to lit the light, but you can see it)

    And TSW3

Train Sim World 3_20231018180133.jpg Train Sim World 3_20231018180152.jpg Train Sim World 3_20231018180217.jpg Train Sim World 3_20231018180225.jpg

And the train is perceptively heavier when you head back.

EDIT: From the timetable at Hodson Street it doesn´t work, indeed.

That's because it is a scripted Scenario, which has nothing to do with a timetable service (which must work for both AI and Player).

No, it isn't. AI cannot perform complex tasks, like refueling and these kinds of load operations. And as timetables services need to driveable by an AI, there is no 'load instruction', because AI doesn't know how to accomplish that.

There is just a simple 'wait' instruction. If you would check the weight of the train before and after the instruction, it would be exactly the same. The aim was to make the service usable by AI, but also give the player some time to load the train, if he's playing the service. But that part is broken, and afaik it was broken also in TSW3.

    1000% correct!!

If you reach the "loading Area" nothing happens Ingame at all. The ony thing is the Game instructs you to wait "X minutes". Nothing else.

I use TSW3 and try to remember if there are any difference to TSW2 or was these Pumps in TSW2 also empty? Perhaps some TSW2 Players can confirm any difference.

I´ve tried both versions (see above) and they´re the same: The scenario "Petrochemical Chaos" works correctly on both, the timetables do NOT work. Also on both.

Ok, than it was wastet potential from release on. I didnt know exactly if the preservation crew had plans to Update this route, but so you have only imagine that the Pumps not empty (except for scenarios)...

    So sad..

This whole route is one of the biggest missed opportunities in TSW IMO.

It launched with the map debacle, and instead of putting in a little extra time and effort to make those tracks accessible, DTG took the easy path and just nuked them from the map. Once TSW2 launched it was forgotten about.

The only route that has (or at least had) correct freight car substution could have been a dream with the new Free Roam mode, but low AI traffic and so many inaccessible areas means it remains unsatisfying.

This substitution is at cost - all wagons are unloaded due to old bug...

But I dare to assume all the freight cars are still empty, despite the substitution being broken now...

And regarding missed opportunities, let's not forget about the promised passenger layer that still did not materialize yet... Such a shame, because I bought the route based on the promose that the passenger layer is coming.

Unfortunately it doesn´t. The stations are there and quite nicely modeled. It would be a glorious revival and a real kick for that route if some passenger services would bring life to it.

Matt is currently looking at the unfinished Baby Bullet timetable, he mentioned it a few times in recent streams. I do believe they still want to add it to the route at some point.

That's good signs if they are still talking about it at least. Bur sadly there were so many thinga they kept talking about, yet they never happened.

And even if it actually happens, will TSW3 get it as well, or only TSW4? Consodering it was promised in the TSW3 times, or maybe even before that in the TSW2 times... I think asking it to be in TSW3 as well is a fair request.

Fair request yes. I am 99% sure it won't be the case though. They've said they are only doing one more TSW3 patch, and I doubt the baby bullet timetable will be finished in time.

That's what I am expecting as well. Would love to be proven wrong though

  25. Is this part of a Toronto line? How long is it? How many stations? Similar to San Jose line?

Empty tracks too, especially on the passenger side of the line.
