Hello, good morning, I've been playing Train Simulator Classic for several years, but I still don't know how to obtain the complete list of the assets of any route or scenarios installed for free or purchased, maybe it's possible by using the TSTools program, if it's possible, tell me how. The objective of this question is the search for mysterious Assets, but first little by little, wait for the answer and then I will see what to do. Thanks you, Rube
It should be self-explanatory with TSTools. Another way is to fly to the asset in the World Editor, double click it to have its name. Unfortunately it's not displaying the full path. So in the editor look at the bottom left, it tells you which scenery tile you're in. Next step is to go into the route's folder, open the "Scenery" folder and load the specific tile file either into TSTools or, unserz it and open it with a good text editor like Notepad++. Do a search for the asset name and you'll see the full path. Some prefer TSTools, I prefer the visual way...
With that explanation, will I find the mysterious assets as long as I know if I put them in said routes or scenarios in the game?
You can post them but this will not help. There's zillions of assets out there. I've seen your threads on the Steam forums. People would need to print them and pin them next to their monitors and spot them on some route by chance. So do you have the assets on your system? Then follow the procedure as posted.
is the a tile file for every single tile on route? how do i open the file if it's too big to open torfmeister
You need to extract it from the .ap and open it with TSTools or use Serz.exe to unpack it. Do not use Windows' Notepad - it sucks. Get the free Notepad++. See this thread where I've explained it a bit deeper: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/performance-boost-how-to-optimize-routes.56949/
In that case you should back up the tiles you modify. In an .ap, they are safe from manipulation and you would place the modified files outside the .ap.
The bad thing is that in order for me to carry out the instructions you told me before, I need to find the path where that mysterious asset was placed.
You get its name in the editor. Then open the scenery tile file. Search for the name and you will see the full path. There is no "mysterious" assets.
I understand it but the problem is that I find the path where I placed that mysterious asset to execute your instructions next.
I understand you, but no matter how hard I try, I can't find the route where the asset follows. Assuming I had it, it would be a bottle of milk and I could follow the instructions that you have given me throughout this forum.
If you are missing an asset than a Bottle of Milk appears - the bottle does not appear if you have the asset.
