    Right then...
I propose to you 3 DLCs

    975025 Caroline Pack
You would get the class 37 (Direct Rail Services)
    Caroline 975025 (Network Rail)
    Class 73/9
    975025 Heritage Pack
    Caroline 975025 (Network South East)
    Class 73/2
You would drive Caroline around the network on railtour duties or take it on an engendering train to check the tracks, If your brave enough DTG you could even drive it from the coach.

    Class 57 Sleeper Addon
    Mk3 GWR Sleeper Coaches
    Mk3 FGW Sleeper Coaches
    Class 57 FGW
    Class 57 GWR
Drive This sleeper service from Paddington to reading (with GWE) or take it on west Cornwall local

    Class 91 Addon

    Mk4 Coaches
    LNER 91
    LNER 81
    LNER Intercity 91
Fly the famous class 91 / Intercity 225

I personally think the problem isn't that only modern sells, (backdated stuff does sell), but more along the lines of "modern sells more (aka we have investors and people in suits to appease)".

At the end of the day, dtg are a business and a business needs to make money. Plus there are shareholders and investors to appease, and modern appeals more to potential players. Not saying I personally only like modern stuff (because that would be a lie I like having a mix of eras), but I only ever got into tsw because I saw the Azuma in the key art to tsw4. I live near the represented area of the ecml in game and the chance to drive the train I see regularly really appealed to me.
This is probably the reason dtg focus on modern stuff. Third parties like just trains have a less immediate need to appeal to the people in business suites so have more reign to do old stuff. Especially as they want to avoid completing with dtg too much. Plus their market is probably more "hard-core" (as much as I hate that word) as people buying dlc for a train sim are probably big rail fans anyway.

(...am I part of the problem?...)
