The strange thing is, why doesn't DTG extend the original line? In this way, the route will naturally be longer。
They’ve talked about doing this. But DTG wants to deliver different experiences from many different routes before extending them. They have shown interest in extending routes though. Maybe once everything in preserved collection is converted we could see that coming.
They want to do this, but it would require a full rework of the existing timetable on that route, since trains usually go through a portal and disappear. They would need to make sure those trains continued along the line.
As my favourite trains to drive are on Great Western I would love an extension to this line, that same 35 miles is getting a bit boring now
I would definitely love to see a lirr extension sometime soon hopefully they’ll announce it one day on the roadmap.
im hoping at least some preserved collection route extensions are given as a free update to previous owners of the route (like preserved collection)
I would prefer an extension from Cologne to Hennef. Cause the part from Cologne to Troisdorf already exits via Cologne Airport on TS21. When they convert tracks, so they can extract the Route. The extension would be nice for the ICE Lovers and the Regionalexpress drivers. Or they will convert Cologne- Koblenz with the extension. With the extension we can drive the ICE Aachen - Siegburg/Bonn RE Aachen to Hennef S-Bahn Düren/Horrem to Hennef.
