    Hello everyone!
I'm Heidi and this is quite my first thread,
Since TSW4 came out with the PC Editor, I've wanted to build one of my favorite routes which goes from Regensburg to Passau!
With a little help and informations from Robert Schulz, I've discovered, that Lidar in bavaria is free! (Big thanks to him!)

    Now to my question,
I've been seeing the regions I need to build my route, but theres a little teeny tiny problem.
I don't really know what to download. Do I need to download the region via Metalink, or am I supposed to export? Screenshot (1198).png And if I'm supposed to export it, do I need KML, GPX, GeoJSON or EWKT?

Im thanking everyone for any help!!

Hi Heidi, thanks your nice words.

What you need to looking for is called "Digitales Geländemodell" (abbreviated also DGM). There are several quality resolutions available and the number after DGM indicates the precision. The lower the number, the better. For example, the best states can offer at the moment is DGM1 qaulity.

You download these data usually in the geotiff, xyz or las format by selecting on a map which regions you need for your project.

gesingus already gave you the link to the DGM1 download source and the map to select in the post above.

If you need more Lidar data from other states of Germany as wel in case you got a border-crossing route within germany, take a look at this post of mine (be aware that Baden-Würtemmberg does not offer Lidar data yet, but Thüringen and Hessen does).

    Hello Robert!

Thank you so much for helping out, but i think imma put this project to the side and start with something smaller. I was actually thinking of the Bahnstrecke Band Endorf - Obing. But I've seen that the Train Station Bad-Endorf is already in the Bahnstrecke Salzburg - Rosenheim.
Is it actually okay for DTG if I recreate the Bad-Endorf? Cuz its the only station I need for my route. If no, then Imma choose another route.
    Thanks in advance!!

Should be absolutely no problem. Since the route is also by created DTG as first party ( it's no third party content like from Train Sim Germany or Rivet Games for example), you even can use the custom assets for Bad Endorf (station or other buildings - not sure what the DLC offers) in your route project as well!

    Isn't that good news? :D
