I feel like this route would be perfect for Train Sim World due to the picturesque scenery, the vast range of locomotives available and the ability to extend it in the future. A shorter version of this route is already available in Train Simulator Classic Exeter St Davids - Paignton but in real life, the trains run from Paignton to Exmouth. The total time from Paignton to Exmouth is around 1hr 30 so if this is too long then Paignton - Exeter St Davids is another option which is shorter at around 1hr STATIONS: ROLLING STOCK: CLASS 150 GWR CLASS 153 GWR CLASS 155 GWR CLASS 156 GWR (AI) - These trains run along the route but don't operate the route and only stop at one of the stations on the way CLASS 800 GWR (AI) CLASS 43 GWR (AI) CLASS 220/221 CROSS COUNTRY (AI) DYNAMIC WEATHER: This route would work well with a brand new potential feature with dynamic weather with the waves crashing up the sea wall
Been suggested quite a few times this one and it really is quite surprising in 5 years of TSW it's not made it into the game. There are a few of us who feel this should have been the first Spirit Of Steam route, not the dreary creature we got from Crewe to Liverpool. Hopefully it will arrive some day.
I couldn't agree more the Kingswear to Dartmouth route would have been superb for the spirit of steam and should have been the first one
I say why not push to Plymouth set it when you still had slam door HSTs and 80xs were working together then we can have the GWE HSTs with a 158 and if feeling really ambitious and a 80x as well. Preferably though it would be set in the 80s when you had the valenta HSTs and 50s with the peaks on XC services and I want to say 118s on locals though the DMUs I used to see on my holidays there don't stand out as vividly as the locos.
I would love to see the route extended onto Plymouth but wasn't sure if the route would be too large for them to make
Ahh, my bad I thought it was longer than that but only takes an hour from Exeter to Plymouth so that would be a great route addition as long as they included the Paignton branch as well. Would also give the option for potentially a drivable GWR class 801/802 or a Cross Country 220/221 which I would love to see
It's alright mate I only knew it because I saw it in another suggestion for the same route. Yes the Paignton branch should be included still though as it would offer that bit of service variation which is key to any route. Like I say a very good suggestion.
