Would be lovely to have a pannier tank for west somerset and any other heritage lines you may make in the future. I am a massive fan of them and would love the oppertunity to drive one in train sim world.
WSR is set during a Diesel Gala so wouldn't be appropriate.. I believe it would be better to have a GWR Pannier in a GWR route alongside a Castle and/or Hall an then have it layer on to any future heritage routes (IF they happen). Also which Pannier? Countless amounts of pannier classes have been built by the GWR alongside one built by BR. 54xx (None Preserved) 57xx (16 Preserved) 64xx (3 Preserved) 74xx (None Preserved) 16xx (1 Preserved) 94xx (2 preserved) 15xx (1 preserved) 1366 Class (1 Preserved)
I'm guessing 57xx, as that would be recognizable to most people. I also don't think seeing a 57xx on the WSR would be that off-putting to people with the diesel gala setting. It's not like they send the steam power out to the movies while the diesels play. I would love a 57xx or 94xx, they're two of my favorite British steam locomotives. Ideally I'd like to see a Metropolitan line set in the 60's for the 57's to run around on, but I doubt that'll ever happen. (And yes, Duck was my favorite Thomas character, why do you ask? lol)
They can also fit the Metropolitan line a requested just trains route when it arrives into TSW 4 with Wooden Metropolitan Railway coaches or Class 438 4TC. Standard equipment for 57xx Duck are the following WCML Liverpool Lime Street to Crewe and Derwent Valley Line Manchester Buxton Derby freight wagons combined with Toad Brake vans and Autocoach the Isabel/Dulcie Type.
if they add any sort of pannier tank to WSR they would have to make either a new timetable with new steam engines or no new timetable but new steam engines. By timetable I mean replace the diesel locos. If they chose a pannier tank for a 1950/1960 route I think this will be more likely. In my personal opinion I think they can't leave the LMS without a tank engine
