Hi everyone, here is a suggestion for a french DLC for TSW3.

My suggestion is the High Speed Lines between Paris and Rennes.

    The lines used are :

The High Speed Line (LGV in french) Atlantique : This line is 279 km long (173 Mi). This line is electrified in 25 kV-50 Hz AC. The safety system used in this line is the TVM 300. The maximum speed on this line is 300 km/h (186 mph). At the end of the line there is 2 posibilities : the first one is to leave the LGV to join the classic line to serve Le Mans train station after 1 hour. The second options is to stay on the connections that join the LGV Bretagne-Pays de la Loire to go to Rennes with some services that come to Laval. The journey between Paris and Rennes is 1 hour and 30 minutes.

The High Speed Line Bretagne-Pays de la Loire is a 182 km long (113 Mi). It’s electrified in 25 kV-50 Hz AC and it use the ETCS Level 2 and the TVM 300. The maximum speed on this line is 320 km/h (198 mph). In addition, there are 32 km of connections to the classic lines equipped with ETCS Level 1. The High Speed Line finish near Rennes.

Here are some links about the lines, the stations and the rolling stock :

This suggestion is synthetic and may contain gaps or errors. I know that some people don't like high speed lines but this one is really interesting to take full advantage of the performances of the TGV. For this suggestion, I used L'atlas ferroviaire 2023/2023 France by Pascal Bejui and David Haydock and the book Le matériel moteur de la SNCF en 2016 by Denis Redoutey.
Do not hesitate to give me your opinion, thank you for reading my suggestion and hope you like it.

Really excellent idea you might as well need to make a downloadable content train capable of running 15kv 16.7hz AC Germany Austria Punktförmige Zugbeeinflussung Linienzugbeeinflussung using the DC 1.95m pantograph Metalized Carbon strip the Avelia Horizon.

I totally agree that we need a TGV capable of running in Germany but the only ones capable are the TGV POS and the TGV Duplex 2N2 3UA. It would be more credible to add them on the Paris-Strasbourg line and this suggestion has already been made several times.

There is another one capable of running into Germany you are looking at Bahnstrecke Witten Dortmund-Oberhausen/Duisburg Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr & Schnellfahrstrecke Köln Aachen DB Baureihe 409 SNCF Thalys PBKA. That way you can do a Paris Gare du Nord Dortmund Hbf service by playing it in two segments Aachen Hbf Köln Hbf & Duisburg Hbf-Bochum Hbf. because the game doesn't have the missing section Köln Hbf Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof Duisburg Hbf which is the missing link between HRR SKA.

I'd honestly love another French route just to add some more variety. However, apparently SNCF has been difficult to work with for some reason. Still is good to have hope that it'll happen someday. :)

I am working on a suggestion for a line in the south of France that would be an extension of the LGV Méditerranée but towards Toulon (so without LGV)

Now this would definitely be something interesting, to be honest I loved the LGV route they made. The only issue is that due to how quick you go, it doesn't take very long to finish a service.

Even at 300/320 km/h, it takes 1 hour 30 minutes to cover the line, so there's plenty of time to enjoy the speed.

Yes, but most of the TGV Atlantique are equipped with TVM 300, so they can't run on the LGV Méditerranée. That's why I'm proposing that the TGV Réseau which is equipped with TVM 430, because it can be used on the LGV Atlantique/Bretagne-Pays de la Loire and on the LGV Méditerranée.

    really cool!
Since LGV is free I drove it a few times and do actually regret I haven’t bought it earlier! I do like the TGV Réseau better because it could also run in Switzerland and with a Thalys livery perfectly on SKA! And it also looks way different to the one we have already :D

  12. Paris to Rennes with a branch to Tours would be amazing! It could be a super route, and price could be higher, around £40.

    Video of the full route!!!

TGV Réseau high-speed trains can't run in Switzerland ; only TGV Duplex 2N2 high-speed trains can run in Switzerland. On the other hand, TGV Réseau 4501 to 4506 can run in Italy, and TGV Réseau 4501 to 4529 can run in Belgium. In addition to these trainsets, there are Thalys trainsets, but they don't run on the Paris-Rennes line, and what's more, I think it would be difficult to obtain a Thalys license.

Spot on and for TGV capable of running German and Austrian Punktförmige Zugbeeinflussung Linienzugbeeinflussung 15kv 16.7hz routes these are Avelia Horizon TGV POS PBKA TGV Duplex 2N2 3UA. Remember the DC pantograph is used to feed the 15kv 16.7hz AC Deutsche Bahn & ÖBB wires for TGV. Switzerland 15kv 16.7hz AC is fed by the same 25kv 50hz pantograph in France for TGV. Same thing happens with CFF Rabe 503 the 1.45m Copper Strip pantograph is meant for 15kv 16.7hz CFF Olten Luzern Sursee Gotthardbahn and Italian 3kv DC while the 1.95m pantograph Carbon strip Germany and Austria.

A new French route would be great, but personally I would like to see the more rural lines featuring TERs & freight before we see another LGV.

Agreed, would love to see more French content, but I'm not a fan of dedicated high speed one-trick ponies like Avignon-Marseille and Kassel-Wurzburg. I'd prefer some mixed traffic routes, and ideally high speed mixed with regular traffic like SEHS and Köln-Aachen.

You are correct however Schnellfahrstrecke Hannover Würzburg the full name of Kassel Würzburg it's actually played differently because daytime high speed trains however in the night time it's freight trains. LGV Méditerranée should have been like KWG Schnellfahrstrecke Hannover Würzburg if DTG got the BB2200 MVGV HS1 Variant TVM-430 made into the game. I am using a French website that talks about those locomotives where some those have a Railfreight decals UK Class 22 designation . You end up benefiting two routes with that BB22200 TVM-430 LGV and SEH via Ripple Lane connection.

Freight trains running on a dedicated high speed line is the most boring gameplay I've encountered in TSW.

I'm thinking of making a more detailed suggestion for the Brest-Quimper line, which is a non-electric single-track line (like the Niddertalbahn, but with a top speed of 140 km/h). The equipment used would be the AGC B82500 which is a dual-mode and dual tension self-propelled unit used on this line.

I’m not gonna lie I’m more interested in TER and Transilien lines because you can combine freight services as well ( here comes DTG giving us the Class 66 ). But I’d love do have the TGV A as they gonna be scrapped soon, I don’t really want the Océane, and for the TGV A I want it in Atlantique livery as it’s more iconic and it’ll be a great tribute to that livery that’s been completely removed just recently. Before the electrification on the Nantes to Les Sables D’Olonne portion, between 1999 and 2005, 3 CC72000 were used to haul the TGV, it was equipped with a shaku and the electric system was improved to feed aircon and auxiliary systems inside the TGV.
