When you stop at a station, the green circle in the top left indicates how far you are in the loading process. Once the circle is full, you can close the doors and depart.

However, closing doors takes time as well. On a HMA S-Bahn service, where stops are short and every second counts, closing the doors when the circle fills up easily adds 10 seconds to every stop. This makes it impossible to stick to time. Therefor, when I'm driving on HMA, I tend to start the door closure process once the circle is about 75% full. This way, the doors will close and lock and I can have a right-time departure.

However, this does not always work out the way I expect it to. Every now and then, I press the "close doors" button just a tenth of a second too early, causing the doors to close and lock while the circle is 99% full. The game then expects me to reopen the doors, and because the circle then fills, wants me to close them again immediately. This leads to a time loss of around 20 seconds - not great.

Therefor, I propose the following changes:
    - If you close the doors before the circle is full, the game should be less stringent about reopening the doors.
    - If you reopen the doors, the circle continues to fill as normal.
    - If you take power, the game completes the instruction. Action Points get awarded pro-rata: if the circle is 90% full, you get 90% of the AP you would normally have gotten for the stop. This could be triggered once you go over a certain speed, for example.

This is a really good idea. And then you have routes like Rapid Transit and GWE where the train stops loading as soon as you initiate a door closure. I'd love to see this get implemented as it would be one less thing we have to be annoyed about

And it would also let you drive fully HUDless without having to unhide the HUD every now and then to see whether you're safe to close the doors yet.

Bonus ponts to DTG if they added animations to passengers who get cut-off by door closures.

But this happens in real life so it should be in the game for an AP penalty additonal penalty if you leave ahead of time of course. Would allow some propper rush hour experiences and decisions.

If running late it should certainly be possible to try and curtail the loading period to make up time. I too have started the door close sequence about 80% through the circle.
