Dont know, why people talking about new routes, new locos etc..for me the main question is why you excited about the game if they dont fix finally more important things like main issues of the game, that damn long shadow thing, the PASSENGER SYSTEM, and that what we talk about? you think they gonna work on it? any new features? or the same old faces walking around like robots?
They need to do something about it. I'm less concerned about empty stations and trains and people being on trains when they shouldn't though (they're problems, yes). First they need to stop them appearing where they shouldn't (ie on tracks or sinking into the ground).
It's really bad. They haven't announced any new TSW6 features yet, but i'm sure there will be at least a couple, and i'm hoping a passenger rework will be one of them.
Yes, the passengers need to be fixed. Floating, sinking, taking off like a rocket into the sky, falling through the foot bridges, overnight stays in carrages, some routes have very little passengers. Some passengers have no idea idea where to go, some just wonder on the platform rather than getting on the train. Lets move thinks along, rather than a passenger stepping onto a train and teleporting to their seat, how about walk to their seat, bus simulators can do, why can't train simulators?
Passenger rework is absolutely needed. I don't think me or others within the community who looks forward to this can wait another iteration for this change to come. The soulless, copy and pasted creatures on those platforms are not people. They spawn in front of you on some routes, they disappear in front of you, they walk onto the track, they body block each other, and have very robotic movement due to their very poor and linear axis.
Not to talk about the depot moves when you either deliver your train full of zombies at night, or you get one full of them when you take it from the depot in the morning. Creepy!
Now that would be cool, have zombie passengers for halloween. I have parked up a train to finish off for the night, get my reward and I click return to free roam, walk back into the carrages and Jesus!!! They are sitting there!!
I put on bus simulator by Astragon on the ps5 and the passengers walk to their seat and sit down, they talk, tell jokes to one another, ask for the ramp to be lowered, they pass some funny comment that life could just be a computer game. You can do conductor mode by checking passenger's tickets and it is a lot more polished than TSW conductor mode and the game was made back in 2019...all 3.2 gb of it? At the end of the day you bring your EMPTY BUS back to the depot!!!!! DID I MENTION EMPTY BUS? You walk through the bus cleaning up rubbish that passegers left behind, you are not tripping over passengers.
I would add passenger diversity as something to be considered. Like children, elderly, people with disabilities, etc. The addition of cyclists on the spoorlijn Zwolle - Groningen route was a great idea, but I wouldn't limit cyclists to Dutch routes only. Put them in every future route and add more variety.
Given the way they behave and DTG seemingly not willing to fix them, probably the best solution. I'd rather have the breaking immersion of no passengers at all than having them walking in front of my train.
Being a long time TSC user as well as using the TSW franchise since Sand Patch Grade was released, I can say the passengers have come a long way since those early days. Yes there is room for improvement but at least these days you have people using umbrellas, talking on cells (mobiles for those in the UK) and a bit more variety than in the past. I finally did a conductor timetable for the first time ever yesterday on the Manchester Airport route and was impressed that watching the passenger board, you could know the number of tickets you would have to check and approximately where those passengers would be located on the train before you closed the doors. Now if we could get all the passengers to leave at a the termination of a service going into the depot, or stop having passengers remain overnight while in the depot, I would be happy.
I agree, starting a railtour by "loading passengers" to find that all of the carriages empty and you then run the tour empty due to the stupid set up of the game. It never bothered me in TSC when I was driving around and the train was empty.
What I find worst about the current Passenger System is that you start a Service with a full Train, open the doors, and everyone leaves. If anyone ever asks me why I have trust issues, I'll show them TSW.
Yeah, I never spend enough time near a platform to notice them nowadays. Until they walk Infront of the train or drop from foot bridges.
Honestly I just want to not see passengers at the unused fast platforms at stations along Great Western Express, Brighton Mainline and West Coast Mainline South
Are those platforms not serviced by the player, but are they still suppose to be serviced by the A.I or are the passengers jumst camping there?
How did DTG get passengers, did they buy them off the self or did they create them? I have a feeling they bought them, but not 100% sure?
Why would they asset flip? It’d be pretty stupid if they did. I can’t see them having done that at all.
Aston Martin make cars, but not all of their cars have Aston Martin engines. If a company already does something well, why waste time and money reinventing the wheel when you can just buy a tested and proven product off another company? DTG didn't decide to make their own graphics engine, there is a reason for that.
I hate the fact that DTG want some passengers staying on the train instead of just disappearing when hitting NPC count limitations. This makes you bring a lot of them into the depot... Sometimes if you move the camera away from the train for far and return, they will be gone.
Apart from that JT routes are the worst offenders of the passenger system. The Pacer is known for every single passenger alighting by evaporation, and the no stations on WCMLOS Morecambe branch would ever have anyone boarding - so no luck for conductor mode players.
No, I'm talking about platforms that never actually see any services due to being on fast lines but the fast trains never stop at
