I've owned TSC since it was Railworks but I can't figure out where I'm going wrong here. I've seen YouTube videos where the player presses key 9 for 2d map then presses Pause/Break and the game pauses. They can then scroll around the 2d map and change points etc. When I press 9 then press pause/break the game pauses but I cannot scroll around the map. I assume I use the mouse to do this as I do when the game is not paused? Also, if I press pause/break while not in the 2d map I cannot then get into the map. Neither key 9 nor pressing the 2d map icon on the hud will access the map. As far as I know (certainly for as long as I can remember) this is how its been for me even over several different PCs and keyboards. I should add that if I press pause/break when not in the 2d map I can still move around the game world and change camera views with keys 1, 2, 3, 4 and 8 but not into the map with 9. Does anyone else have the same issue? Or am I doing something wrong?
That's the way it is yes, you can un-pause move and then re-pause if you wish to move around the 2D map
Ahh right, I see. So you have to be unpaused to scroll about the map but you can then pause while setting up points. I also see you can zoom out using the mouse wheel while paused and when you zoom back in, the map centres on wherever your mouse arrow is. Makes it very easy to move along a line without unpausing. Fifteen years its took me to realise that! I've been going into the map and frantically jumping ahead down the line to set points while my train hurtles towards them.
