Following a first go on Clinchfield it got me thinking of a possible idea for a similar UK idea.

Around the Buxton area of the Peak district is the Quarries of the Peak Forest. These produce stone trains for all over the UK and nearby Hope Cement also dispatches traffic.

Various loading points are situated throughout the area such as Tunstead which up until the mid 1990s dispatched limestone in Vacuum braked Hopper wagons owned by ICI to Northwich.

A loco depot existed at Buxton next to the station there which was the end of the line from Manchester. The Peak forest freight used lines of its own to access the Hope Valley route at Chinley.

Motive power was mainly pairs of 37s with 45s, 47s and 20s also being seen.

A modern day version could be interesting as much of the traffic is still running in the hands of the freight operating companies.

I would propose having the full network of routes from Hazel Grove to the Buxton area giving maximum operating potential.
