Saw these pictures on PS-Store. Wasn't that said on the stream that there are no passenger services for the 4F?

 

Yes and if I recall Matt seemed surprised about them when they were mentioned.

I must admit the 4F on stopping services would make me purchase the route probably but personally it doesn't really look right with mark 1's.

 

No passenger services, the 4F seems to go between shunting, loading and banking operations. They spoke about potentially adding it so we'll see.

 

Really some lighter goods trains, maybe a pick up freight or maybe engineers trains etc would have been ideal for the 4F as well as the banking etc.

A 4F and three slightly grubby Stanier carriages would look very good on a local passenger service.

 

Is someone able to check what formations are available for the 4F in scenario planner please?

 

Just watching the DadRail initial stream and had to smile and agree with almost his first comment - it really does look more like Diesel Railcar Simulator (Unity), than TSW (UE4). The lighting is shocking - it was even distorting the colours on the DMU windscreen wiper. Interesting to note he chose to run the Class 101 DMU on his stream and illustrates perfectly why we should have got this with the route, either as a reskin or an all new Class 104. Much nicer for seeing the scenery and excellent way to enjoy the rail joint sound too.

So have at it DTG, set aside this is a steam route and give us a decent slection of diesels to run across it.

 

Quick question, do last gen players have access to all stock in timetable mode, e.g. blood and custard mk1s, 16t mineral wagons, conflat wagons?

In that case, it is a bit misleading to have two images of something that's not included in the timetable or scenarios. Especially for those who aren't in the forums and didn't watch the entire stream.

I bought this for my PC from the Steam Store on April 25, 2023 -- it's now May 9 and according to this thread the route is "out now" - - - but not on my computer! What's up???

So, here we are in May 2023, and service designers are STILL putting stop markers bang on top of signals- something which was supposedly outlawed two frickin' years ago.

 

Its always been after the sale it releases but people are still complaining

 

Correct! The sale has nothing to do with the release! its quite normal that the sale is a little longer!

Always been with every TSW dlc and i should know that as i own every TSW DLC

Please do not act like this..... That's totally not the case.... They give a warning there is something wrong and have nothing to do with they can not wait or not.....

 

PC Steam release is always around 3am / 4am in Australia but some DLC's can change the time of Release [EDITED - Jan - Language]

 

Back in the days TSW DLC’s used to release at 6PM london time and still sometimes do

 

Looking at Steam, if you are in the UK it will release at 1800 BST (British Summer Time), ergo 1700 UTC everywhere else +- your time zone difference. Just the way it is. Obviously those streaming from the PC version, like DadRail are in the Inner Circle and got advance access.

 

Again, Steam releases at 10 am their local- that's US Pacific Daylight Savings at the moment, so 6 pm British Summer Time. It's always been that way; the only occasions it hasn't been 6pm in Britain is during the changeover when US Daylight and British Summer dates don't align.

 

Would you believe that grown- ups ( I presume ) are arguing like children and using foul language over a couple of hours difference between one country's release and another's?

This happens every time something is released. Pathetic.

Yeah thats what I was expecting RE some lighter goods trains, would have been nice to get a longer run. Hopefully that leaves scope for improvements at least although we said that fo SOS.

Some Stanier carriages would be a nice addition, definitely agree! I mean the 4F has coach formations on scenario planner its just whether they decide to add it on to local services I guess?

The whole problem in this one is that steam has multiple countdown clocks and that gives problems again and again. One clock has already passed 1.5 hours, the other is still counting.... That is the point where a comment was posted and that has nothing to do with "Grown-ups"

 

All I'm going to do, is play a bit of Fallout 4 for the next 20 minutes, glance at Steam to see if it's started downloading and if not, give it a kick. No sweat!

 

Just a heads up for those champing at the bit, if you have Steam running you will need to completely exit from it, and Fallout 4 , to force the download to start.

Edit: In fact having re-started Steam it is now doing an update to TSW3 so will probably need to restart agian for the route.

Yep looked in the Content/DLC folder and no sign of anything in there yet for Peak Forest!

Yes got to concur. First proper Journey element (the first three are already ticked off presumably having done the tutorials in SoS) has you doing a carriage shunt from Buxton Sidings to the station. The stop marker is on top of the signal on a 1 in 80 falling gradient. Had to literally stop, edge, stop edge and literally only got the objective marker to proc when the loco buffer beam level with the signal.

That is not realistic or reflective of safe working practices - as a minimum the signal should be cleared, or the stock would be hauled into the station with a pilot engine...

 

WooHoo Downloaded as I went downstairs for tea & ready to go.

 

I was unsuccessful at 10am as Microsoft kept telling me there was an error at their end and I waited most of the morning. I had to go out for the day at midday and just after tried again and the purchase completed. Sods law, I missed out on playing it today

 

Well now there is an similar issue on Steam with Mastercard purchases it seems or atleast for me

 

I really am in two minds about this as this is a wonderful area of the country that I love and seems to be made well in game but also the impending introduction of diesels had already happened on this line and it would feel weird not to have a peak and 1st gen DMU as a minimum.

 

For me it is the amount of missing services. I bought SOS and it still has a very poor timetable with no sign of anything changing, not even a statement of intent.

I am therefore not planning to purchase this route until I see some intent that the missing local services will be added, even if it is a 4F and mark 1's which would be fairly inaccurate. The icing on the cake for me would be the DMU services on the Millers Dale route.

I don't want to purchase it and in a years time we still have two steam routes lacking decent service mode timetables.

Also it seems there are some un-prototypical movements from what I have read above.

From what I have seen so far the route looks lovely and I hope to add it to my collection soon.

 

Money has been taken Twice to be exact and is pending i'm guessing even if steam is saying that the purchase has failed so i have no idea what i should do
