The Pelion railway is a 600mm narrow gauge railway line running between the city of Volos and the mountain town of Mileai on the Pelion peninsula. The route lenght is only 25 kilometers (only 16km in present day, as the traway and triple gauge tracks between Volos and Ano Lechonia are not in operation, with only the Ano Lechonia to Mileai portion in operation), yet due to the low track speeds with a maximum of 20 kilometers per hour and a rather lengthy stop at the Ano Gatzea station, the run still takes about 90 minutes.

The line itself runs through mountains and over valleys with storng ties to ancient Greek myths of centaurs and Gods, this area being their summer residence. Many feats of civil engineering make this line possible. From personal experience of riding it, it's a very beautiful run.

For more information on the route, consult Wikipedia: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pelion_railway.

As for rolling stock, TrainOSE currently operates two diesel locomotives, numbered A1 and A2. These two engines, produced by Schoema in 1999, are dressed up as steam locomotives.

Steam power was used untill at least 2015 however (or maybe it still is, I really don't know), in the form of one of the two original engines of the line with a 2-4-0T configuration, produced by Tubize.

Trains usually run with three or so coaches, although I have seen pictures, especially steam powered trains, running with a box van behind the engine. Likely a tool car.

The short route length, in combination with the low track speed makes this route ideal for TSW, with TSW the routes being shorter and all for technical reasons. The short length would also allow for more detail to be put into the route without bogging down the computer or the weaker console systems.

Thanks for reading! If you liked this route suggestion and would like to see it in-game, well, you can help make it a bit more noticeable by upvoting it. If you didn't like it, that's fine too, I just hope you enjoyed reading this suggestion of mine. Have a nice day!
