About The Peninsula Commute, also known as the Southern Pacific Peninsula or just Peninsula, was the common name for commuter rail service between San Jose, California and San Francisco, California on the San Francisco Peninsula. This service ran as a private, for-profit enterprise beginning in 1863. Due to operating losses, the Southern Pacific Railroad (SP) petitioned to discontinue the service in 1977. Subsidies were provided through the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) in 1980 to continue service, and it was renamed Caltrain. As much as I would like to see this, I don't think it will ever happen for TSW. Give how difficult DTG has made it for them to make any historical route.
Great suggestion! an era present with older iconic rolling stock seems like something cool to have for an America passagier route. The current route is really too outdated to play on it, although the locomotives are stil really great to drive. The Peninsula Corridor, in my opinion really deserves an update. Or either something in a different style somewhat which is completely new
SP Peninsula Corridor is a route that I would love to see. I would love to drive an SP Black Widow diesel loco on commuter services. The FM Trainmaster is a favorite loco of mine, so the SP H-24-66 is a must-have if this route is added to TSW4.
