Servie 143 San Jose to San Fransisco dept 11:12 got stuck for a red light shortly before 22nd Street. This is likely caused by an AI train that refuses to move. I play in Journey mode and did NOT save the game. One and a half hour gameplay left unfinished .... The image below shows the train that is causing the issue.
This has been reported to DTG many times and gets asked every few months on these forums. Another thing that never gets fixed. I wonder how many hours us, as customers have wasted trying to complete this. Do you have the shunter installed?, I believe the issue may be resolved by uninstalling the shunter pack, but I've not personally tried it. If anyone from DTG is reading this, if you can't fix it, how about removing this service from the journey mode and/or replacing it with a service that can be completed, so we can at least 100% the journey mode. Of course now that TSW3 locks later chapters until the earlier ones are finished, it's even more important that issue such as this do not occur on other routes.
This is correct, to complete service 143 the MP15DC must be uninstalled, this problem exists since the release of the MP15DC for TSW 2020 (here you can see once again what we customers are worth to DTG). If you are on PC you can disable the pointless chapter lock with the following engine.ini entry: [SystemSettings] ts2.dbg.JourneyChapterLockOverride=1
Since this bug and the end of TSW2020, Peninsula Corridor has gone from bad to worse and now, coupled with it not being compatible with the new UI, it is in such a bad way. Terrible state of affairs from DTG on this route. The Preservation Crew, who never got this route to a playable standard in TSW2, are now no longer an entity doing repairs and so this abomination, complete with all the old bugs and several layers of new ones, remains the route that is in the worst state of any, and will likely never be as good as it was before. It was a great route once.
Which is a shame, because with such a good setting and rolling stock variety and realistic timetable, it's one of the best TSW routes. Even despite the really weak scenery, it just feels alive with all the MOW services running around and all the different rolling stock.
TrainSim-Adam and DTG Matt see the discussion above. If you do not intend to fix this type of issues, please make it possible to flag the service as unplayable for us. I tend to forget it does not work and a few months or maybe a year later I try again, to get stuck again. The biggest problem is not the bug itself, but the fact I forget and keep wasting time on not working content.
The biggest problem are the years of ignorance towards such bugs, reported hundreds of times, well known and yet never fixed. SFJ still costs 30€, the MP15DC also still costs 14€, both old and new players are ripped off ice cold and well knowing. Once the money is in the bag, they just shrug their shoulders, collect maximum money for minimum effort, just don't lift a finger for old DLC that are still offered at full price, the same bugs for free across three versions of the game.
I really don't understand DTGs whole attitude to issues such as this,. I really think they underestimate what a negative effect, it has on the whole game experience Yes it's one of out of a couple hundred services, so might be considered a trivial issue, but when players new and old constantly have the problem, it needs to be fixed, ASAP, even if that means removing the whole service from the game. I am the same, you waste 2 hours before your find the issue, you then try it again in case you did something wrong. Then you remember you had the same problem six months previously! I've said this before, i can understand some of the sound issues and the difficulty they have obtaining access to the real life trains and comprises have to be made, but these games play issues whether it's broken achievements, missing collectables, broken mastery or services are inexcusable given they have been repeatedly reported. Issues such as this really need to be a top priority for fixing. They are causing your customers to give up and switch off
