The Penistone Branch Line is a Line that runs between Huddersfield and Sheffield and is a nice, quaint and long branch line (for a branch line) that is mostly a single track line that lasts for 23 miles going through both West and South Yorkshire running at the right side of the Peak District, hence the lovely scenery.
    STATIONS:
There are 17 stations on this line starting from Huddersfield, heading south towards Sheffield, the stations are:
Lockwood, Berry Brow, Honley, Brockholes, Stocksmoor (the line goes to double track shortly before Stocksmoor), Shepley (the line returns to single track after Shepley), Denby Dale, Penistone (the line returns to double track just prior to Penistone station and returns to single track just after), Silkstone Common, Dodworth, Barnsley (the line returns to double track yet again), Wombwell, Elsecar, Chapeltown, Meadowhall Interchange (an opportunity for Trams between here and Sheffield like with Edinburgh - Glasgow) and finally Sheffield.
    ROLLING STOCK:
I propose two new trains for this route, neither of which will be new to the game but this is the only way it will be true to life.
Class 150/2: (at the Huddersfield Bay platforms used on the Huddersfield - Leeds via Halifax services; Penistone services go from the other side)

We have already seen the 150/2 with the West Cornwall Local in TSW2 however this one will be slightly different, firstly it will feature the much newer NORTHERN livery and an onboard PIS system including a new destination board on the front rather than a roller blind like the old version. Secondly this version should have a completely new sound set because the WCL version is disgraceful despite using 'AP' sounds, it should also have a door opening alarm because of the new standards the trains have to meet which is why the 150 should have a GSM-R like with the 323 however I would like to see this fully implemented rather than only being able to turn it on, and like with all the other new UK DLCs it should feature working guard features and hopefully we finally get a working guard mode/AI guard or even better both.
Now some details on the train. The class 150/2 is a member of the sprinter family based on the prototype class 210 DMU, they were built between 1984 and 1987 and consist of 2 cars, they have a top speed of 75 mph. These units are the workhorse of this line and will take up the majority of the services en-route.
    Class 158: at Denby Dale
    [IMG]
The class 158 Express Sprinter DMU was built by BREL between 1989 and 1992 at Derby Litchurch Lane Works as 2 and 3 car sets, they have a top speed of 90mph and run some of the services on this line. We will get the 158 from MML so I suggest that we get both the Cummins engined and as a new addition the Perkins variant too. This shouldn't be much of a problem all they have to do is record some engine sounds and make a new livery.
    Class 142 Pacer at Sheffield
I know I said I'd only suggest the 150/2 and the 158 but if the route is set when Northern was Still owned by Serco and Abellio then this would be the new train.

The class 142 Pacer DMUs were built by Leyland National (the bus company) from 1985 to 1987 as a stop gap between the Asbestos ridden 1st gen DMUs and the brand new sprinter fleet's completion, although they were initially supposed to leave service shortly after they stayed and caused havoc on UK's rails all the way until 2020 what's interesting about this train is how unconventional it is, they were made by taking the body of a bus and placing it on some freight wagons this explains the bus like doors, however this caused some issues, due to not having any bogies and just a single axle the ride quality on board these units was to say the least not great, they were known for there bounciness due to minimal if any suspension and terrible flange squeal due to their lack of bogies and that's just the tip of the iceberg with these units another thing is that because of the step behind the doors wheelchair passengers were unable to board so they had to be coupled to another unit to be allowed to run for example a class 150. Overall I think the Pacer is a must have for Train Sim World due to its uniqueness but also how highly requested it is.
    ERA
This line could either be set in modern day or before when the Pacers were still in service I'm hung up on it because although modern day provides more opportunities for mergers and layers, the Serco x Abellio Era would give us the pacer and arguably the best train livery to date I think that this livery and the rolling stock all really suit a single track branch line so it really depends on your opinion.
    SERVICE PATTERN
The only trains on this line run from Huddersfield to Sheffield and back so there isn't many services and unfortunately no Branches. It takes approximately 1hr 15m - 1hr 44 m to complete over a distance of 23 miles, there are 26 trains per day providing you with a fairly quiet run.
    FEATURES
As I said earlier while talking about the 150 I would like for there to be fully functional GSM-R and guard features (also a guard mode and AI guard you can see how I would like this implemented here: Train Sim World 3 - Update That We Need | Dovetail Games Forums)
    CONCLUSION
I think this would be a great route to add to Train Sim World due to how calm and beautiful it is players really get a chance to enjoy the scenery because they aren't blasting through the line at top speed I also think that due to it's short length that It won't easily bore players but it would also provide an opportunity for Devs new to the Train Sim World scene like JT or ATS to experiment and get used to TSW3 before moving on to big projects like they do in Train Sim Classic.

Good idea in principle abd id definitely buy however when it comes to sprinters as it currently stands tsw3 is absolutely appalling as so called 150/2 sprinter of west Cornwall local is nothing like sprinter over year in
