Is this the Peterborough Doncaster route ? Peterborough,Grantham,Newark North Gate,Retford and Doncaster if not how many stations will the route have don’t want another 1 station route like HSTs on GWE
You are correct, the stations are Peterborough, Grantham, Newark Northgate, Retford and Doncaster. there will be a very varied calling pattern.. some running non-stop between Doncaster and Peterborough, some calling at all stations, and plenty of other variations like Newark only, Grantham only etc. I was at Retford this week travelling down to KGX, this is the view from the end of platform 1 (southbound) with the class 80x 9/10 car stop marker.. stopping trains art Retford use the line on the left, the fast non-stop trains pass through on the middle lines this has the potential to be such an amazing route, i personally cannot wait for this!
Which TSW trains run on the route in real life and thus could be part of the timetable? As far as I know, only the 800, 158 and 700 are confirmed, I think IRL it's much busier (don't know the line at all).
class 700 cant be driven since they only drive on ecml south section (so they will only show up as AI services at Peterborough to make the station feel more busy), class 158 can only drive between 2 stations on a section of the route for 30minutes. So its mostly going to be the azuma running a few different types of services and the class 66 for freight we also only have the class 801(electric only) and not the class 800 (Electric & Diesel) so the timetable might be a bit more empty than in real life
in real life there are class 802 hull trains that run between london and hull/beverly (peterborough to doncaster on this section of tsw, but would only be driveable between grantham and doncaster (calling at retford) i believe these are actually represented but with the class 801 azuma (it appeared in a screenshot of the upcoming timetable).. which while not accurate (a class 801 couldn't drive between temple hirst and hull/beverly.. not above 5mph anyway! - but if would increase the timetable, and provide a lot more services ingame calling at retford) i don't have the screenshot myself but it's out there on the forum somewhere regarding the hull trains services being covered by the azuma class 801.. would not happen in real life but looks to be happening in game. there'll be purists saying it shouldn't be added (and i totally understand that) but i'm happy with it personally.. i'm all for a busier timetable and if dtg were to only include services that a class 801 can operate in real life.. it would actually feel surprisingly quiet.. so i'm all for it someone like Matt or JD from DTG can probably confirm for definite.. but this is what is happening according to the screenshot
The Grand Central class 180 and I think the grand central class 43 still runs (Edit: no gone since 2017), will use it when it gets down to that part from Sunderland - London. both not in TSW however.
Grand Central haven't used HST's for over 3 or 4 years now, they are currently trailing a 221 though.
just looked it up after I typed this, it’s been a while since I’ve seen my local line for them, so wasn’t sure.
