Hi All, I plan to purchase (may be in the future next sales) this standalone DTG DLC BR Class 35 "Hymek" but some question about this model and advices from those who own this model. Does this Class 35 has a working vacuum train brakes gauge ? because I already have the Class 35 coming with the Western Hydraulics pack from DTG and sadly for mysterious reason this model has only the independent vacuum brake gauge working well only for the loco not for the vacuum train brakes gauge for the entire train. So it is hard to see how much application brakes to do. Any feedback on the standalone Class 35 model will be welcome. and yes I already saw some videos related to the Class 35 but never saw how the vacuum train brakes gauge are working if any. Cheers Gérard
The standalone Hymek is definitely worse than the one in the hydraulics pack as the one in the hydraulics pack is an update of the standalone one.
They should really include the old Hymek's scenarios for the modern Riviera Line in the Western Hydraulics Pack... It should just swap the old one for the new one!
Ok Thank you pschlik for your feedback; so I will don't to go to purchase this old standalone version in this case. However a fix/update from DTG for the train brakes gauges on the Hymek Class 35 would be very appreciated. I wouldn't to purchase two time the same loco with the same glitch. Thank you very much Greets Gérard
Yes I agree with you by swapping or moving the old scenario doesn't cost them a hard work. But the time is to do money so they don't offer the old scenarios in the Western hydraulics pack for the Class 35 at the least. Greets Gérard
To swap loco's you just need to use RWTools. it's free to download and simple to use. I must check the gauges now as I've never noticed this before.
As for the gauges, TS1 definitely doesn't have the best vacuum brake simulation by standard, especially when it comes to dual braked trains, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Thank you Dean for your interest. I know the well known RWTool. When I wish to swap a loco personally I use the editor TS tool. To come back to the working brake gauges it seems on the standalone Class 35 DLC the brakes gauge is working also applying the train brakes even if it is the gauge dedicated for the independent brakes only for the loco brakes itself. I had seen on a YouTube video this behavior but don't remember at time what video it was. That is sad DTG don't manage to program a working vacuum train brakes gauge indicator on this Class 35 like some others steam Locos which have a working manometer for the vacuum brakes.
You are right as coupling more than one locos featured with vacuum brakes system result on a strange behavior and sometimes it is impossible to stop in time with two coupled locos. It has probably to do with a impossibility to program such vacuum brakes system.
Oh my mad I'm very sorry for all this disturbance because I just went to discover the braking gauge is well working when acting the train brake lever not only the independent brake for the loco itself but this happen only when the loco is as a light engine. When Mk1 coaches are hocked up behind this loco, acting the train brake lever doesn't make moving the needles on the brake gauge. Now could someone expert in this vacuum system brakes explain me why the vacuum gauge doesn't react when applying train brakes. There is certainly a good reason to get this behavior but I'm not confident with this in this case. So at the first I presumed it was a glitch or issue but not and apparently it is a normal behavior. I'm very sorry for my miss understand how all this stuff is working and even retrieve my blame to DTG concerning my mistake. If someone could explain me why this loco pulling some Mk1 coaches the brake gauge don't react when applying train brakes that will be very appreciated. Greets Gérard
