I have a suggestion know we have the pc editor. Can it be so the barriers in the world are suggested boundarys rather then fully stopping player moving past them. Reason I say this is cause if I want to do something in a depot literally 10 steps from the track but a barrier stops this can be quite frustrating.
Those barriers are there to prevent you going where you shouldn't. Behind those invisible barriers is nothing.
In the screenshot above I have taken from google earth of Eastcroft Depot. the faint white line is one place where they put a barrier which I get fairs but it prevents player to make their own way around the depot. Instead why not remove the barrier and place it further away from the track say between the buildings near the bottom of the image. Also, you have to remember we have the public editor to make our own creations etc as such when it comes to scenarios we may want to say have the player go over to somewhere near the track. Placing the barriers so close to the track ends up stumping the creativity of the scenario as we are so restricted. I understand before public editor fine. Also, I may want to overhaul the area for an interesting scenario but again due to the barriers it stumps the creative part from really coming through. I just think maybe barriers need rethinking now with the public editor. Maybe they suggest going out of bounds rather then full on preventing player movement.
Here is a screenshot from within the game, well the editor but as you see there is a fine they've placed to block movement so why not have the fence as the boundary rather then putting a small boundary piece blocking moved though that small bit.
Or another suggestion is remove the barriers all together and let the creator place more specific ones or even toggle various ones off and on etc.
