Can someone hopefully shed some light on whether I'm doing something wrong or this is right, but I'm playing on a playstation 5 with a digital copy of the game and the spirit of steam expansion downloaded. I'm quite happy to accept this may be me, but how do I overcome it? I've managed to complete every scenario, and while I regularly see the cream and red coaches, I've never played a scenario where I actually get to pull them as part of a service except for really reliable rescue where you rescue a jubilee pulling them. They will pass me regularly as part of A.I services Is this right? 40 scenarios of pulling only maroon coaches has been boring!
Are you playing TSW2 on PS5 with backwards compatibility? If yes, then your gameplay on SoS will be impacted with the limitations for 8th gen consoles and rolling stock is one of them: More info available here: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/spirit-of-steam-what-you-need-to-know-megathread.55036/
So I originally had TSW2 downloaded on my PS4 as a digital copy, and when I got the PS5 I jumped at the opportunity to download it again as the "PS5" version. Since then I've only downloaded DLC on the PS5. Perfect example is I'm playing the scenario really reliable rescue right now. An A.I train has just passed me pulling a mixture of maroon and cream and red coaches. The jubilee I'm about the rescue has a mixture of both. Yet I've never pulled a single one cream and red coach or a whole train like shown in the trailer. I know it sounds very first world problem but it's beginning to buf the life out of me. Maybe I'm being thick, but how do I check and rectify this in simple terms for an idiot?
The “blood and custard” livery isn’t activated in timetable mode on any platform. Everyone is seeing exclusively maroon coaches on all services. All PS, xbox and PC players see the same issue. You can’t change it yourself.
Ah OK, at least that's a definitive answer I guess. Is this something that will change in the future or will it change? Such a lovely livery to never be enjoyed seems a little disappointing
Hopefully it will change but there is no guarantee it will. It is disappointing because there being two liveries was a selling point of the DLC and then the timetable services only have one and only a couple of scenarios have both.
I was going to say the only scenarios I've seen with both are really reliable rescue which I'm replaying now, and the scouse one that has you shunting coaches. The excitement when I thought I was about to pull a train of them! I'm surprised at Dovetail, reading this forum and seeing some of the complaints I'm honestly a little disheartened. Why are they struggling so?
At this period they would have been mixed. The blood and custard livery was being phased out in favour of maroon so there would have been random mixtures of liveries.
