I’m very pleased to finally see another sale on PlayStation after such a long wait! The last time around, I was busy with work and didn’t have time to play TSW, so I think I’ll make use of some discounts this time. Some especially interesting stuff for me: The Special Edition being 60% off is definitely super strong. It’s essentially the pre-order price of the Standard Edition from last fall, but with all the Deluxe and Special content (tons of extra routes and locos) tacked on. Since I didn’t buy the core routes at launch and also miraculously don’t own any of the Special content — despite having over 60 DLCs in my collection (!) — this would be an incredible deal for me. Looking at years past, there will probably be a chance to get it even cheaper (80% off) around July, but I think getting to enjoy all this content a few months earlier than planned might just be worth the additional cost for me. Salzburg-Rosenheim finally gets a biiig discount…. 90%! Even though the rolling stock and much of the route looks kinda generic, it’s gonna be hard to resist it for the price of a Cappuccino. The run between Freilassing and Salzburg looks super unique, it’s got some nice layers for content I already own (628, 101, Linke Rheinstrecke railtour), and it seems to have been taken care of nicely by the devs, appearing in patch notes post-release much more frequently than many other routes. Plus, it’s a good way to stretch the legs of the ÖBB Intercity stock included with the Semmeringbahn as part of the Special Edition. New York-Trenton doesn’t have as big of a discount this time around (only 70% I think), and I really regret not getting it when it was 90% off. But it’s still a decent sale, I can benefit from multiple layers I own (Acela, LIRR), and the Amtrak stock will layer onto the Morristown Line included with the Special Edition. Hoping for these sales to happen more frequently again in the future!
