I find myself using scenario planner more than the timetable these days and it's very enjoyable. Is there a way, however, that the length of a train can be disassociated from the length of the destination platform? For example, I made a scenario on Trans Pennine, a stopping train from Manchester to Huddersfield, just a two car 101. I set up plenty of passing traffic to make it interesting but the trains I can set up are limited severely by the length of the station they end up at. A train from Huddersfield to Slaithewaite has to be very short, presumably to fit in the platform. But if it's a freight, the platform is irrelevant. I'd like to pass a long oil train blasting it's way up to Standedge tunnel but all I can have is a 101 or a light engine. As many of the stations on the route are small, there isn't much scope for running long trains. Could these restrictions be relaxed? Or is there a good reason why not?
