I hate to be in a position to be so negative but really think that DTG have done something wrong with the planned rollout of TSW4. I personally only play UK content and have zero interest in other material. DTG told us previously that TSW allowed us to have 'Our collection, Our way'. However, this time round we cannot purchase regional packs on day one and have to wait a whole month according to information available. Flying Scotsman locomotive is hidden behind a paywall featuring content I don't want as will be JTs Ormskirk Preston Blackpool add on. I am appalled that all packages are not available from day one. I look forward to hearing others opinions.
So what's the false advertising? Like you said you are only interested in the UK routes. It's called Train Sim World. You are just interested in a part of the game. DTG is advertising the entire game not just the UK part.
'Your Way' refers to how you play the game (Free Roam, Scenarios, Creators Club etc), not whether or not you are going to get free stuff. They offer the flexibility of 3 different versions right now and the feature set is identical across all versions. If you don't like those versions for whatever reason then wait and see what bundles are available in the future. It's unlikely you will find a better deal than the 'Deluxe Edition' but if you don't want to pay for it then that's on you.
I cant see how releasing different packages at different times can be considered false advertising, specially when they have informed you of this more than 1 month before release. I agree that making people wait 1 month for the regional packs is inconvenient and should be avoided.
What I read said you would be able to purchase the regional packs on day one, you just can't pre-order them. If you are only interested in UK content you could get Peterborough - Doncaster, that is in the UK. It does say that Flying Scotsman is not currently available as a separate purchase. I think they said in one of the streams that Flying Scotsman would be available, at some point, as a loco add-on, just not yet. You would need to have some version of TSW4 before you could drive the Flying Scotsman, were you hoping to drive it in TSW3?
Can't really see the OP point. You either take the Deluxe version at around £8.00 more than the cost of a single DLC, or you wait to buy the ECML Standard pack for £30 plus the FS Pack for however much that will sell. This seems to have been made quite clear by DTG on the options chart so not misleading advertising IMHO. You might not want to buy the Deluxe version but the other options are clearly explained.
You can have your collection, your way, In TSW 3 now, TSW 4 at launch or TSW 4 in October. Nowhere have DTG advertised that they’d only sell UK content.
I do not see that DTG has done anything wrong at this point, regarding false advertising of the packages that will be available at launch. Once the game has launched, they may put other packages out but nothing wrong has been done by DTG sorry OP.
Also don’t get where the false advertising is here. DTG have been quite clear what is releasing and when and a short wait for a specific pack is hardly that terrible in the big scheme of things, especially with the decent discounts available. All I see DTG being guilty of here is not doing what the OP wants.
I will echo that it is frustrating that we have to wait a whole month for the flying scotsman edition as its stuck behind the deluxe edition. As I play UK content and will upgrade to TSW4 at some stage but as steam is my favourite content its a little frustrating to wait another month for that part of TSW4 which is the part I'm most interested in. But thats my opinion personally

" False advertising " is when you promise something publicly and then fail to deliver it as advertised. It's very clear what and when content for TSW4 will be available. This is a legitimate marketing strategy. You may not like it, but there's nothing " false " about it.
Disagree, no false advertising like said by others in earlier replies. I agree it can be a bit annoying if you can't physically wait. On the other side it can also be positive. If the release is very bugged which is not impossible, then you're clad you didn't pre-order it. Also if you wait a little bit longer there will be a change you get the content on discount on the Black Friday deals.
