https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/some-big-apple-loco-ideas.3562/ I've set this poll up to see which locomotives people would prefer to be added to the NEC: New York route. You can see previous discussion on this topic at the above link. You can choose up to 5 options.
As much as Providence and Worcester would be so cool, small companies like that don't do licensing very much. But they are part of Genesee And Wyoming (god I hate that paint) and since DTG does have freightliner licensing, they may have a bit of an upper hand with other G&W companies. Whatever the situation, it doesn't mean I can't want to see them though! (Still...The YN3 CSX locos are more likely, and definitely would be a nice treat for those who own NEC.)
I have to give love to my GG1 .. Out of everything I think I would like to see a Genset switcher the most though.
Providence & Worcester is now owned by Genesee & Wyoming, who also owns Freightliner in the United Kingdom, so I'm sure Dovetail Games can make Providence & Worcester content easily since they are able to make Freightliner content. But I'd go with New Jersey Transit content for my answer since that way, if the route gets extended to Philadelphia (or at least Trenton), there will be commuter trains included. Even if the extension never happens (which would be a shame), at least that gives the opportunity of using Secaucus station.
i would love to see an HHP-8 in this game despite their unreliability compared to their high speed cousins i love HHP-8's with their hybrid K5LA and bronze bell and their sleek design i always pick the HHP-8 when i drive on the NEC in TS2017 and i would really love to see an HHP-8 in TSW
Someone in another thread suggested the Metroliner. Another train that isn't period appropriate, but seems like some people would like it.
I know that there is barely any point in adding LIRR locos, but could you add in the LIRR M7 and the LIRR DM30AC as a choice since you have NJT stuff on there? Hopefully DTG will implement LIRR soon! Also change the P42DC to the P32AC-DM because if this is just for New York, then only the P32 runs there because it has dual mode capabilities and the P42 does not.
P42DC’s are not allowed on that section of the Northeast Corridor due the prohibiting of diesel exhaust at New York Penn. However, I would love to see that locomotive in game regardless. I think they would opt for an Amtrak/Metro-North GE P32AC-DM. It’s basically a P42DC, but it’s Dual Mode.
