    Afternoon gents,

On the whole, with the additional hours I've put into the game post-patch #2, I have to say that I'm enjoying most of the changes made to the game through patch #2. In particular, the rebalanced reel speeds are much better than they were before. And the time of day properly syncing across the different time scale options is great! Nothing like being able to play on an extended time lapse scale and still be able to determine if it is morning or if it has already crossed noon in-game. Also enjoying some of the quality of life adjustments (i.e. adding the starting marker and updating the player icon color on the map, fixing the loadout bug so you can have more than 8 rods in a loadout and not having to re-cycle through them from rod 1 after moving your boat, having the 250hp Yamaha engine on the Falcon F20 top out at 75mph like the other 250hp outboard powered boats in game, the added sound clips when you catch a bass, etc.). Even my brief foray into online mode seemed more stable - didn't experience a random drop from the server

However, I have noticed a few issues... particularly a couple of items that patch #2 was supposed to fix per the patch notes... but in-game these bugs still seem to be present.

Please note: I am playing on the OG Xbox One (as in, the original, launch day 2013-spec, slab of a console in all of its outdated glory). I do not know if perhaps that is the reason why I am still seeing these issues post patch, or if it is still present on the Xbox Series S/X consoles as well.

    1) UI - the in-game "Catch Summary" (accessed from pause menu) does not display the location of your catches on the map - I have posted a photo below from a fishing session on Lake Ray Roberts (in Bassmaster Venues mode) to show this issue. You can see I've caught 3 fish, but there are no markers on the map other than the starting dock. Does not matter if you scroll up or down the list of fish caught, or try to press "A" on each entry, there is no marker for where the fish was caught. (For the record, I caught all 3 on the far western side of the map, just off the little peninsula that looks kind of like the shape of Italy).

    2) The end-of-session "Catch Summary" may not be displaying Bass Bucks properly in Bassmaster Venue mode - it is still showing the total Bass Bucks in your account rather than the number of Bass Bucks earned during that session (like how it shows the number of new followers earned during that session rather than your total followers). See photo below from same session on Lake Ray Roberts. I have $111k Bass Bucks in total, but I did not earn that from my 3 catches during that session (... I mean, they were some hefty swamp donkeys, but they weren't big enough to reward me with over $100k). But I did earn 397 followers that session.

Note: I did not try this after fishing a career event, only after finishing a session in Bassmaster Venues mode. Not sure if this is as intended... based on the patch notes, it seems unclear to me. If it is working as designed, then disregard.

Some other bugs that are still lingering after the first two patches:

    1) Online bug where you cannot reel in lure and cannot cancel cast – there is a bug that I’ve only experienced in online public lobby play where your angler is reeling in his line, and it gets to about 2yds left, but you cannot reel in the line any further and thus you’re stuck with your lure still in the water next to the side of your boat or just hanging in the air below your rod tip. Cannot press “B” to cancel cast. Cannot press “X” to sit down in the driver’s seat and then stand back up again to resume fishing. No face buttons work – only option is to go into pause menu and quit back to game’s main menu. Have taken a video capture of this but cannot seem to get it loaded onto my post due to size limits to show you guys.

    2) Camera bug in online gameplay – when you hook a fish while playing in an online public lobby, as soon as the camera transitions from the underwater view to the over-shoulder view from your angler’s perspective and the strike quality indicator flashes on the screen (i.e. “perfect” or “good” strike, etc.), the camera seems to snap almost 90 degrees from the direction in which you hooked the fish before rotating back in the direction where your fish actually is.

To explain, if I hook the fish perpendicularly to the left side of my boat, as soon as the strike indicator flashes off the screen, the camera will snap towards the bow or stern of the boat, almost as if the fish has teleported from the side on which you caught it to the front or back of the boat before the camera pans back to where your fish actually is on your line. Can be a problem if you’re trying to manage tension on your rod by angling it in a certain direction and then the camera snaps in the complete opposite direction, increasing tension on the line into the breaking range. Only happens in online gameplay, and only since the second patch – single player game modes are unaffected. Again, I have a video capture of this but cannot seem to get it loaded here.

    3) Stat bugs on UI and menu screens - total number of game played on each lake in the "Lay of the Lake" screen prior to launching session is still bugged. Most lakes show "-1" still except Lake Hamilton and Chickamauga.

NOTE: every time you play in a public online lobby right now, it adds +"1" to the total for Lake Hamilton (because that is the current lake on the server). However, every time you play a lake in Bassmaster Venues mode, it does not record the total for that lake, instead it seems to add +"1" to the total for Lake Chickmauga - regardless of what lake you've actually chosen to play on.

    4) Catch stats not syncing between menus - total weight of biggest catch shown under gamer tag on main menu does not match total weight of biggest catch shown on your anglers' stat page in "Angler's Hub."

    5) Mastery challenge progress still seems to be bugged - progress updates only intermittently, if at all. Progress has gotten less consistent since patch #2.

    6) Sunglasses lens color bug - there was a patch note in patch #1 about fixing a bug with sunglasses, but there still remains a second bug involving the color of the lenses resetting. You can choose whatever color for the sunglasses, and it will save that choice for your current game session, but it will reset back to the first lens color (kind of an orange color) after you quit the game back to the Xbox Home page.

Still loving the game, team! Can't wait to see where you all take it next!
