Somewhat inspired by Matt's DB BR 204 stream today, I took on the new "Schimnns Freight Delivery" session myself. It's a great shunting run, but there's more. After the last official instruction, which leaves you "parked" on a short siding. When the boxed E appears click on it and then select "Return to Free Roam". You can shut down the 204 you've been driving or leave it running, but then climb down on the yard side and look around. After a short while you'll see another 204 heading west a few tracks away, which will soon return east. Walk east to the Schimnns you just dropped off. The other 204 will couple to them and then drive off, but a red signal will soon stop it because a long freight is exiting the yard ahead of it. While it's stopped, open the door on the side away from the driver, climb up into the cab, remain standing (I don't know what would happen if you chose to sit in the vacant driver's chair), and say hello to the driver: He's not terribly friendly, but then -- he's working and you just hopped into his cab. As soon as that read signal turns green, he'll start driving west -- toward the edge of the earth! Okay, it's not much of an adventure, but it makes me wonder how often this sort of thing becomes possible in TSW. After all, why go on a donkey hunt when you can do this?
