I believe it was mentioned you could switch to diesel for shunting purposes, but it will be limited to 5mph.
The 801 is technically electric only, it just has one engine to be used as a sort of limp home mode. I doubt there'll be any cause to use it apart from maybe shunting.
Yes you can swap over to diesel but will only do 5mph as is mainly electric but has the small engine for limp mode or shunting.
