Hi all, I am having issues with getting liveries to work in the new game. I had a lot of liveries from TSW2 and 3 in my library, but whenever I went to use them the locos showed up as unpainted. I unsubscribed from all of them and redownloaded some, but they still show up unpainted. Liveries made in TSW4 work fine. Anyone else having similar issues? And how could I go about resolving them? Thanks in advance
Hi Lawrence, I think we all have the same issue(s). Many locos now only show up in their undercoats, some show up with partial liveries (usually having issues with any text logos) and only a few seem to run correctly. It is very frustrating. I don't think that there is anything that we can do as users. I think it requires the creator to re-edit/re-upload them in TSW4. David.
Has this been verified or tested? If either of you have any of my repaints (PinzaDave), I'm happy to test this out and re upload a loco to TSW4. Just let me know which loco and I'll give it a try for you. Regards, Dave (PinzaDave)
View attachment 132831 View attachment 132832 View attachment 132833 Hi Dave, I've already discussed this with you in your own creations thread (when the prototype HST wouldn't show up). For the moment I would say, from my experiences, that your liveries seem to be OK in TSW4 but, when I get a moment, I'll create a scenario that only uses your creations and see how I get on. (It's a shame that we can't use community created liveries in the Editor at the moment otherwise I could have lined up all your DMUs in one place at the same time). I am in the middle of finishing off a scenario on ECML that has about 40 AI services on it and in that scenario I can see community locos that (a) render correctly, (b) that have issues with the their logos etc and (c) that just go by in their base colours. And this was after carefully checking my subscriptions as I downloaded (or at least I thought I had). Two screenshots below show a CL66 displaying correctly and a CL158 losing part of its livery but both are in the same scenario. Then, after that, is one of your creations looking very smart in the sun on ECML. David
I have since re-uploaded 158773 within Train Sim World 4 so hopefully it has full trainside branding now
I noticed your updated comment on the file itself in Creators Club so I re-downloaded but didn't recheck it in TSW4 beforehand this time. I only noticed the error in scenario when I went to take a screenshot of the unit departing Peterborough. What I'll do now is delete it again and then try it from the Hub in-game and then the Hub on-line and see if either of those work. I'll let you know how I get on.
Well this is interesting. 3 screenshots as follows. 1) In-game but with no subscription to 158773 - I get the default livery (no surprises there). 2) In-game but with an in-game subscription to 158773 - I get a faulty logo. 3) In-game but with an on-line subscription to 158773 - I appear to get a correct livery. In all three cases I did nothing to scenario itself. I simply changed how I was subscribed to the livery file and then set-off. (When I was testing the scenario properly I passed a green CL66 with no livery at all. I'll work out which loco that was and try the same process. Be back later).
Glad to see it works from subscribing online, strange how it is acting up if you subscribe in game Can't wait for what you have lined up, I'll be definitely playing it
Right so here we go with the CL66s. Four screenshots this time. 1) SEH66 Freightliner by Mati. Works from an in-game subscription (I presume as I rarely go to the on-line site). 2) CL66 66523 by a certain Mr Geek. Works from an in-game subscription (I presume). 3) CL66 (HR) Forth Raider - no livery at all from in-game. (This is what I saw in my scenario). 4) CL66 (HR) Forth Raider - full livery present from on-line. So it would appear that we do still have an issue with subscribing in-game as opposed to on-line. It looks like on-line is still the safer route to go down at the moment. (I realise now that I will have to re-test the first 2 files from an in-game subscription just to see what happens so I can be 100% sure).
Re the faulty CL158 livery I have only just noticed that the error I posted today (the missing letter O) is different to the error I noticed when I had done this earlier. (See higher up the thread where I am missing an M, an O, an N, and an L). That suggests that we aren't quite getting the same file each time when we download?
It looks like the missing decals on TSW3 liveries should be getting fixed in the future according to the latest (October) Roadmap From the October Roadmap: Future Patches Our plan is for smaller, frequent patches in the early launch window of TSW4, much of which will be dictated by your early feedback. From our current lists, some of the areas we’re looking at include, but by are no means limited to: Haptic feedback being too strong Missing collectible on Vorarlberg Scoring Imported liveries from TSW3 missing layers Camera navigability Free Roam crashes Azuma AWS and motor sounds
Glad to know it's not an issue on my end then! I will do some testing with older liveries I use to see whether TSW2 liveries have the same issues. I haven't encountered the missing decal issue yet, only either fully working liveries or just base paint. Let's hope the layer fix also extends to TSW2 liveries...
I have issue with BR442 livery - I can see it in livery designer menu, it is uploaded to Creators Club, but I cant select it for timetable...
