This route would be a modern day route, covering the 33 miles (53km) of track from Preston in Lancashire to Manchester Airport via Bolton or Wigan (or both).

    Prominent Stations:
    Preston
    Leyland
    Buckshaw Parkway
    Chorley
    Adlington (Lancashire)
    Blackrod
    Horwich Parkway
    Lostock
    Bolton
    Salford Crescent
    Deansgate
    Manchester Oxford Road
    Manchester Piccadilly
    Mauldeth Road
    Burnage
    East Didsbury
    Gatley
    Heald Green
    Manchester Airport
Other stations on this route would include: Moses Gate, Farnworth, Kearsley and Clifton

The routes available for the player would be:
    Manchester Airport - Blackpool North
Manchester Airport - Glasgow Central / Edinburgh
    Manchester Airport - Windermere
    Manchester Airport - Barrow-in-Furness
Although there is only 4 total routes, they have a wide variety of calling patterns, with the Manchester Airport - Glasgow / Edinburgh trains being faster, intercity style routes and the Blackpool, Windermere and Barrow trains being more regional routes. There are also plenty of services per day.

    Rolling Stock:
There would be 4 different types of rolling stock available to the player:
    Class 802:
The Class 802 would add a bit of variety to the route due to it being a rarer sight on the WCML part of Transpennine Express' network. These operate on Manchester Airport - Edinburgh services

    Class 397:
The Class 397 would be the primary type of unit on the intercity services within this route. They operate on the Manchester Airport - Glasgow and Edinburgh services[IMG]

    Class 195:
The Class 195 is one of two trains that operate the regional services on this route. They mostly operate as a single unit, however occasionally they do operate a pair of 195/0s (4 coaches total) or 195/1s (6 coaches total). These operate on the Manchester Airport - Barrow / Windermere services. [IMG]

    Class 331:
The Class 331 is, aesthetically, identical to the 195. However, it is an Electric unit with much better acceleration. They come in 3 and 4 coach variants, however the services they operate on this route are exclusively operated by either a single 331/0 (3 coaches) or a pair (6 coaches). These operate on the Manchester Airport - Blackpool North services.[IMG]
