Hi, I have checked this feature from last Saturday on PS4. I do not know exactly, when it was available for console, but I was busy before. Up today, I have created 3 formations with this great tool. How did you get this to work ,,ive tried formations in the ceator on x box series X can build it but wont let me use my formation period i save it etc but acts like i never created anything ill go back on it and still says 0 creations ..the only way i can do formations is spawn on foot in free roam or timetable mode and place each car i want manualy 1 at a time then i spawn what engine or engines i want , Then i couple together all my cars and set the route and go ..it s more time consuming especially when i like to make US freight trains
In my case - I am on PS4 - just select the locomotive and the wagons and passenger cars, saved and then it appeared to select. You have to select first the locomotive, then if it is from creators club - as in my case - and then it appeared on the sim, without any problem.
Despite of what I have comment above, with no problems with the Formation Designer - please notice I do not create a heavy US very long train! -, I would like to make some comments about improving this tool. Mainly related to selecting the locomotives, passenger wagons and freight cars. It is a bit complicated to identify clearly the model type.. Due to you have listed all the passenger and freight cars together. You do not have a first selection of one of these categories. This will be very useful. Filters are only related to countries. Must be also for the type of or car. Even the image associated to a passenger or freight car is the same. Is a drawing of a passenger car. Even selection of diesel, electric or steam, will be useful. Furthermore if when you select a passenger car or a freight one, it appears a little image of it. Due to the names of the freight cars, does not indicate a clear idea of what type is. Mainly the german ones This will allows us to create formations more quickly. Hopes these suggestions be implemented.
T hank you tried what you recomended to get formation to spawn ,just like you said the 35 car US freight i tried did not spawn said not enough memory, so i will try smaller trains 20 or so cars or less and will see how that go.

Yes...last weekend I created a formation using US Freight locomotive and some freight cars - all of them using repaints from Creator's Club, and an error message appeared, when trying to use it. So as they are bigger locomotives and cars, it seems there is resources problem, with them. With passenger trains sets - locomotive and 7 or 10 cars, no problem at all even they were all repaints. I have made a new one for the CD - Czech one - using the Vectron now, which is a more complex locomotive, but no problem at all! And another one..., this time of UK: Class 66 GBRf + VTG freight cars Hopes you like it!
I just tried a US short freight ,but a fail spawned 2 SD70aces after i set the 6th car in formation creator it made the game completely crash.. Will try a US passenger train next , then after some UK EU stuff.. Other wise i will just have to make US freights 1 car at a time placing them myself have made a few 60 to 65 car freights this way
I have created a new Formation, using this tool. This time, "I crossed the Atlantic"..., and went to the U.S.A.... When you see big US Freight trains on videos, you noticed they "hires" locomotives of other companies. So I created something similar, for a drive on Cajon Pass. The lead locomotive is a BNSF (SD70ACE) one. But the other two, are a NS one (ES44AC - from Horseshoe Curve route), and an UP one (SD70ACE from Sherman Hill) - this one on reverse position, as it is used there -, so please find some pictures below. Hopes you liked it SPECIAL NOTE for DTG: I have noticed on the front numbers of the BNSF SD70ACE, does not show its light!, Despite the corresponding switch inside the cabin, is selected to "ON" position. Hopes this be fixed. I believe it is something simple.
Nice i like it ..its definitely common here in US to see all kinds of power combinations paint schemes as i am from US ive seen and captured on video some really neat combinations on CSX and NS where i live ..
t hats one of my favorite thing s to do in TSW4 free roam formation ,,is to spawn and run neat motive power consists like these ..
Yes... you have 2 ways to do that: One as I did, created a "formation of the 3 locomotives", using the new tool "Formation Designer". The other one, is with free roam as you mentioned. But that way, implies you have to go inside the cabs, each time and couple the other 2 locomotives. But both ways are Ok, according each one preferences. Have a nice week end!
I havent tried just doing locomotive set up in formation creator yet .it good idea isave from having to couple up each engine like you said..
