Hi I have TSW2 Collectors Edition disc version on PS4. The Game & all my progress, trophies, profile etc is stored on an External HD which plays fine when on my PS4 pro. I now have a PS5 Disc console. With my External HD plugged into the PS5 all my PS4 Games show up & current progress & trophies, however my TSW2 only shows Set 2 trophies & progress ? & when I launch the Game, ie; disc in PS5 console my profile & progress is NOT there ? its asking me to create a New Profile ? ! goes without saying I do not want to start all over again so is there a fix for this ? if so what do I need to do to continue with my Game/ progress but playing the Game on my PS5 ? Thanks for any help & sorry if this has been asked before.
when moving from PS4 to PS5 there is no progression carried over. DTG are working to try and bring progress across but it is not currently known if/when this will be done.
Because PS4 - PS5 save games do not work. Unfortunately and like the rest of us PS5 owners you cant play the PS5 version of TSW with the PS4 version save game. Also you only have a 64?GB DLC limit for each PS5 game So if like me and some other PS5 owners who have all the routes / DLC then they will not all show up. You can still play your PS4 version of TSW 2 on the PS5 With your PS4 save game. You just cant use the PS5 version of TSW with your Save game. I hope this helps somewhat. Oh and Welcome to the PS5 club :P Regards Hentis
Thanks Hentis for your reply. I am still a bit lost ? If I try to play TSW2 PS4 version on my PS5 by putting the disc in PS5 & the all the Game progress stored on my External HD, which worked perfectly fine on my PS4 & from what I have read should do on PS5, it looks like I have to start the Game again with a new profile, my original profile & progress is not there ? If I were to purchase TSW 2 PS5 Game (Disc) would I then be able to keep all my existing progress from TSW2 PS4 by re-downloading everything over from the Playstation store as preserved routes but in PS5 version.
Ok in theory you should be able to play the Disc version (ps4 version) of TSW 2 on your PS5 as the external drive you cannot play any PS5 games from there. You should be able to download your PS4 save from the PSN "Cloud". I dont think?? there is a PS5 disc just a digital download. That will only install on your SSD with the save game and all. But you can download all of your DLC for both PS4 and PS5 as it will save to its respectful game drives. You can keep your save progress separate for both PS4 or PS5 versions you cannot use your game save data from the PS4 on the PS5. They are not compatible. DTG are working on it but there is no firm date of when or if it will be done. You may want to have a read of these threads if you haven't already for a better explanation than mine. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...tion-from-ps4-to-ps5-and-other-ps-faqs.43565/ https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/playstation-5-add-on-limitation-explained.48903/ So here's how my system works. I have my standard PS5 (835gb SSD) I have a 4tb external hard drive which all my PS4 titles and saves are on. I have ALL the DLC for the PS4 version of the game and its all installed on the 4TB HD ( Level 450+) I have a 2TB internal expansion SSD where the PS5 version of TSW is housed. (Level 188) I only have literally all the UK and German DLC loaded as well as the 3 core routes as I have reached Sony's 65 gb DLC limit. The other DLS has been removed. I dont really miss it as I play it on the PS4 version. DTG are working on a fix so that PS5 owners can have all their DLC installed on the OS5 and where it will only "mount" what DLC you particularly need for a route. Hopefully we may hear of an update to this in the roadmap this tuesday (8/03) i hope this has helped. Hentis
There actually is a PS5 disc version of TSW2 with the Rush Hour branding on it. It was released in November and unboxed on one of the lets play streams by Sam. He showed off the code inside the box (for the extra rush hour content) and said if you could read the code you could redeem it to get the RH routes free (I managed to redeem the code but as I already had the RH content, I gave the code to a friend so he got the extra routes). I too run the PS4 version from an external drive but the OP won't have the game save on his external drive as the drive can only hold game saves or games themselves and not both. It sounds like you only had the DLC downloads on your external drive. As I mentioned above in reply to Hentis, you can't have both game install data (inc DLCs) and game save data on the same device. If you still have access to your PS4 and have PS plus, go onto your game save and upload it to the cloud. Then, put the PS4 disc into the PS5, insert your external drive so that the game can recognise your DLC content. The next step is to access the PS plus cloud on your PS5 and download your PS4 TSW2 game save data. Once that is done, you should be able to play the PS4 version with your save data from your PS4. I switch back and forth between PS4 and PS5 (running PS4 version) so I keep the cloud saves synced.
Thank you both for your replies, much appreciated. Nick Y, thanks for your advice on trying via cloud storage, I have not tried or used that option yet but will give it a go as I am a PS+ member.
Wow MY EYES what am I reading XCDriver have you still got the old PS4 console Sounds like the saves didn’t come over at all for this game? Did you hook up both consoles with a LAN cable to move your content over? As in all game saves for anything else you’ve ever played. (And games not on the external!) It’s the best and quickest way. If the games are already on an external HD even better these are already in a good place and less copy time. saves can’t sit on external drives. When you browse around the data options in the PS5 settings you’ll see both PS5 saves and PS4 saves, these will always sit on the main SSD. PS4 games can run off either drive PS5 games only run on the internal SSD that clears up the misleading info above, phew. the import of the 4 version to the 5 should have been in place from day one. Took a while but enjoying play through again. trophies are linked to your PSN, set two may be showing first/top of the list as you would have possibly wanted a trophy from this set most recently. Scrolling down you should find set one and three.
