We have 15% sales tax so i just burned up a 10$ bill on Bus Driving Simulator EVO on PS5. It's more like "evil" as a sim, as it is just a bus driving game, and a sim in the very loosest sense. It claims to have 3 cities. I lived in one for 18 months and the other for a week, but i can recognize nothing of either. Nada. We do not use various palm trees along narrow sidewalks in downtown L.A.. Ficus and plain trees are common as are many exotic trees. Palm trees are not what makes L.A. distinctive. The San Gabriel Mountains are not the north edge of downtown. This is more like a nightmare where a voice says you are in L.A, but you see that you are not. Were the odd buildings procedural in origin ? Why not approximate a few real buildings if you are going to design all these weird faux structures ? L.A. is easy to suggest. Disney concert hall, city hall, union station, Griffiths Observatory, Hollywood sign, hills, LAX, a freeway, and you are almost there. Santa Monica pier. One quaint building for Venice beach. Done. Oil refinery east of LAX at El Segundo. ( L.A has oil refineries, Munich, i don't recall one. ) Just some buildings between beach and hills might almost do it, though downtown is far from a beach. Vegas would have been so much easier, or San Francisco. Berlin easier to suggest than Munich. Munich has a distinctive Church and the old Olympics, but after that, a challenge. So just a bad choice. I ignore Rio. They will have done this: Munich, no palm trees; L.A. a few, Rio, the most. Yech. Oh, for me Long Beach is also L.A. as is Santa Monica, but Disneyland, no. You could try to convince yourself that one city is European and the other is North American, but which N.A. city is just weird ? Las Vegas. Best bus city ? Could be Berlin. Maybe EVO is ok for kids, i have not yet seen my grandkids try it. Maybe they can master the wild steering. Two positives: it recognizes mouse and keyboard on PS5. TSW needs to accept mouse and needs to allow PS5 key bindings to be user settings. Oh, why EVO ? Has electric bus to unlock. My best guess. There is rain. So, nuff said.
