When you finish playing, do you turn your PS5 off completely or do you put it into low power mode/standby? I tend to turn mine off, but going off what DTG has said about TSW 4 running better after textures have been cached etc, is it better to leave it on Standby? I presume turning it off resets everything in the game requiring the textures to be cached again?

I leave it in standby mode most of the time. The only game in my whole library that I need to restart my PS5 for is TSW2020 where after a while the whole system UI crawls to a halt, might be some kind of memory leak I don't know.

when I played on PS4 before I got a proper gaming PC I always turned it off after I finished my hours of gamer time.

Always turn it off. I noticed that the PS5 significantly slows down if not properly shut off for even just a few days. I only use standby in a pinch when losing a bunch of progress is the only other option.

Texture caching (aka shader compilation) isn't a thing on consoles, only on PC, it happens on PC because there are many combinations of graphics cards and drivers, whereas consoles are fixed hardware so all shader compilation is done before you see the game.
