Does anyone know if it is possible to change the PZB mode with a keyboard shortcut (like you used to be able to do in TSC)? Just got in a 110 towing 700tonnes of freight, and it starts in PZB upper mode. I don't want to have to run to the other cab to flick the switch, surely taking over a freight train it should be in the correct mode? While I am talking about the 110. Does it have carbon disk brakes? Using minimum brake application, it stops like an F1 car?????
That was not the question. PZB Mode (U/M/O) should be set according to BrH values (Braked Weight Percentage), U is the slowest, M is the middle, O is the fastest. Basically, a light train (passengers) can go faster (O mode), because it can also be stopped quicker than a heavy train. There's usually a switch in the cab for changing the mode, and, as far as I know, there's no shortcut key (which is what OP asked).
As far as I know, no. However, technically you can move your camera to whatever panel has the Modus Switch using shortcuts so at least you don't have to move off of your seat.
In the Vectron you can change it via the displays... but it´s usually set up correctly when you spawn. Don´t know for other locos.
Unless the switch is in the other cab, like OP said. Also, unless the loco is the Vectron, and you can't change the PZB Mode anyway. This happened to me during a scenario where I started pulling a freight consist, then dropped it off, and then had to drive ahead to another station. After dropping off the consist, I should have been able to switch to O, so I can go faster, but it just didn't work. I believe the screen works in Training Centre and Free Roam.
Basically, for most trains if I remember correctly.. there is a switch. Now to switch it, you have to switch the mode first then switch PZB on and off. That's how I do it as it needs to reset first. Unless it changed which then..oof.
There is no shortcut for changing the PZB mode, but there is a shortcut for changing the cab (Ctrl -). However 700 ton freight may be running in O mode correctly, if the wagons have good brakes. I believe you need to turn PZB fuse off for the mode to be changable, but it is definitely possible on routes as well. The behavior is not super consistent as this is not how real world locos work, but PZB mode is changeable on all german stock in the game.
103 is still in state of eh.. better alpha version. Until recently, the PZB was fundamentally broken on it overall.
True. At least with the long-awaited update for her PZB and the fix to the brakes, she is in a much more driveable state now. Shame about the mode selector though as it sort of precludes simulating interesting RailAdventure consists and the like.
