TSW3: Still no PZB acknowledge with the B button on Xbox on German “Nahverkehr Dresden” routes. When will this be resolved?
My experience with this on PS is the acknowledge works but it the sound that isn’t playing. It makes the sound of you use the handle on the desk but if you press the controller button it makes no noise BUT it does acknowledging PZB.
This is actually a feature of the route that should be carried forward to all future German routes. It’s not supposed to make a noise just for acknowledging SIFA, but it is meant to for acknowledging PZB. For ease of use the game uses the same button on the controller for what in reality and in the game is two separate buttons in the cab, so it was making a noise each time it’s pressed when it isn’t meant to in real life. Matt has explained in streams that they made Dresden-Riesa smarter by having the button only make the PZB Acknowledge sound when going over a 1000hZ magnet. They didn’t carry this forward. It actually annoyed me that the 612 in Tharandter Rampe, which came out after Dresden, still made a noise for acknowledging SIFA. It’s hit and miss on Kassel-Wurzburg as well with the 403 correctly not making noise and the newer train to the game, the 401, making the noise.
Thanks for your reply. I'm going to try it today but I don't think it works. The PZB lever also doesn't move when you press B. Or does it only work if you drive over a 1000Hz magnet? Does the same apply to 500Hz red light?
So the lever itself isn’t moved at all unless it’s the actual time to acknowledge, which is when you go over the 1000hZ. AFAIK 500hZ doesn’t require an acknowledgment, only a speed adjustment. So I tried some services to check and everything is working as it should except on the 146 which like you say doesn’t have a working B button at all. I couldn’t even acknowledge SIFA like I could in the TSW2 version of the route.
I had this behaviour of no responsive PZB Wachsam when using the Button „B“ on all routes with the BR 146.2 until yesterday. But with the update which was rolled out yesterday the bug is fixed on my Xbox Series S. Maybe you need to update the game? By the way: I use one of this cheap chat keyboards which can be docked to the Xbox controller, so that I can use keyboard shortcuts while playing. SIFA can be executed with Button „Q“, I use Button „B“ on the controller only for „PZB Wachsam“, so that I don‘t have those annoying sounds or voices of the PZB while using SIFA on the Xbox. Just as a tip.
That's handy. Can you assign the keys to a specific action? PZB acknowledge is page down and it is not on that mini keyboard.
I drove a German route with the BR 422 but unfortunately the B PZB acknowledge did not work. The Sifa does work with the B button.
There is something strange with PZB B button currently. I drove Meissen - Dresden this afternoon and the B Button doesn‘t respond again. I restarted the journey. and I recognised that the yellow SIFA icon in the train‘s central display (not in the HUD) lit permanently. I than pressed SIFA (Button Q on my keyboard) and than the SIFA icon got dark and B button worked like intended again. There is still a bug, hope DTG will fix it. My guess is that the bug has something to do with the new feature which shows the safety system state (PZB) in the HUD. I turned it off earlier today because I don’t need it and it confuses me a little bit. After that I had the behaviour described above.
The Talent 2 for me on Tharandter Rampe makes no noise at all from the PZB acknowledge whether it’s the O button on PS controller or the switch in cab. That said the PZB is working so it does acknowledge which is the important part but the sound effect is no go. I’ve noticed similar across TSW2, some locos it alarms every time you hit the button, some it alarms only when you hit the button and there’s actually something to acknowledge, and some it doesn’t alarm at all but still does the back end acknowledge. I’m still learning the German locos and PZB so I haven’t kept track of which ones have which issue.
No, you can only use the short keys which are defined in the game as default. But I can use the keys for the most used functions like headlights, wipers (very important with the new dynamic weather), cabin light. The only thing I‘m missing is enabling the cruise control of the Talent. And of cause every function which is controlled with the train‘s displays, like enabling AFB in the ICE 3 or FIS at the Talent. But it works fine for me.
Still, the mystery surrounding the B button remains. For some it works and for others it doesn't. There must be something causing this. This is the $1 million question…
Again drove a German route with the BR422 but pressing the B button on PZB acknowledge does not work on Xbox. I really wouldn't know what I'm not doing right.
