Question About Irl Operations On Harlem Line

    As depicted in the game, several timetable runs & scenarios on Harlem Line end up on dark sidings below GCT. How do train crews 'safely' do a swap over there ?

    Isn't it quite dark & full of 3rd rails all over the place ?

    the area is fully lit. Grand Central isnt as dark as the game portrays it

    Also, unlike the UK, aren't the juice rails bottom contact and fully sheathed with wood or other insulation at the top and sides?

    Yes, Metro North uses a " bottom contact " 3rd rail, presumably for safety reasons. The LIRR, however, uses a standard top contact shoe and rail system.
