Is it normal to have no passengers spawn, or get onto the train? I've done two runs now in the 101, and there has only been like 1-2 people on a platform, and no one gets on my train. Just arrived into an empty Huddersfield, with an empty train.
Yes very normal. I think on the last roadmap stream they said they will be having another look at passenger behaviour.
You realize passenger trains carry people right? And that's one of the main points of this simulator is that people get on and off the trains at stations? You can also spawn on foot and ride a train as a passenger, so actually it is a passenger simulator as well.
Unfortunately when they did the rush hour passenger system they also messed it up (and haven't yet done anything which amends the behaviour that I've seen) You may start with a lot of passengers on the train, but the first time you open the doors loads get off Then you have many empty platforms as you drive and very few people ever seem to be on the train at any point
I mean you can hardly blame them really, when im still doing 50mph at start of platform then slam on the emergency brake to hit the stop marker I'd want to get off that train ASAP I also would not get on that train I am a TSW3 passenger
I realise you're being ironic, but my point also includes when you're starting at a terminus station. You open the doors and half the passengers get off
The most egregious example of passenger misbehavior for me is at Gatwick, where you arrive from Victoria or Brighton and no-one gets on or off the train. Planes are flying overhead, so, for the sake of immersion, I just assume that all flights have been diverted to Heathrow that day.
Pssst, let me share a little secret here for I found the missing passengers. I´m not too familiar with british habits, but I trust TSW´s true to life fidelity and its creators behind. The passengers you´re looking for stay overnight at Newton Heath Depot. Yes, you heard it right. Masses of them! There they´re enjoying the Class 101´s legendarily comfortable seats. They prefer them over their beds at home. When the train is picked up in the early morning and moved into service at Manchester Victoria, they´ll leave the train and rush to another productive work day. Right, you heard it here first! Now seriously: The passenger system on TSW could handle an overhaul. Why does it always remind me of Monty Python´s Ministry of Silly Walks?
Ah so it's not only me that has done that. I may suggest to my manager that we do this with our trains to bring in some more revenue, though I wouldn't imagine people would find the seats as comfy.
It doesn't bother me that much on BML, because there I guess all the passengers are actually at the back of 377/387 pushing it so it can finally reach 90 mph. And it still takes ages...
