With the special edition if you preorder it a player wants to know if you can get those routes for TSW3? Or is it just TSW4? He wants to know if he can get them now so he can play on TSW3 instead of waiting for Sep 21st?
I think my understanding is that they won't be backwards compatible with TSW 3 until launch - so yes on launch they would be able to use them on both games, but until then neither if buying TSW4 special edition- I'm sure i saw DTG JD post this somewhere - please correct me if I'm wrong (hence the tag)
Yes you can buy them now for tsw3 and then download them again for tsw4 seems like it would be less money to wait and get the special edition though
Well, the legacy routes in that bundle. The new routes (Antelope, Vorarlberg, ECML) will be TS4-only.
Hi SD40Australia , So when you purchase a TSW 4 add-on or bundle, you will also receive entitlements to download the older versions of that add-on (including TSW 3). However, those entitlements won't be live until launch day. The first opportunity to play the routes in Special Edition would be during Early Access on TSW 4. Hello, it seems pretty much all of TSW4 routes from the special edition that existed for the previous games were available for the previous games besides Dresden-Reisa, I know there was a upgrade to it but shouldn’t you be able to use the older version of it? Interestingly enough, TSW2 shows it in the Doevetail store with a checkmark but it isn’t in the games route list and Epic doesn’t show it with the manage content button.
If you want to play the route in TSW2 I would suggest lodging a support ticket would be your best bet. In my experience Epic can be pretty poor at enabling entitlements for older content purchased in newer bundles (Having bought Boston Sprinter as part of a TSW3 bundle, for example, I have it in TSW3&4 but not in TSW2). If you want to play the older version of the route but in TSW4 then I'm afraid you're out of luck, as jack#9468 says.
Ok, I will try to lodge a support ticket, yeah I’m not interested in having the old version in the new game, just having the old version in the old game, thanks for the response and advice.
