I have a question how long did South Western Railway keep their 707's it would of been great if they were on the portsmouth direct line to replace the old class 450's

If I'm not mistaken it was when South West Trains became South Western Railway.

The fleet was displaced to Southeastern, of which is to be complete this year.

The first Southeastern 707 entered service on the 27th September 2021.

Without a refurbished interior with a new seat design, I don't think the 707's would've been very good on the Portsmouth direct line, can you imagine sitting on those ironing board seats all the way from London to Portsmouth, not to mention their lack of on-board toilets.

Am I the only one who thinks the 700 seats are not uncomfortable? I could sleep on those!

GWR seem to get away with it, even the newer seats they fitted on the 8xx units are rather firm from Swindon to Bristol, I’d hate to try Paddington to Penzance on one.

down here we have to contend with underground train type seating mind you better than before springs coming up from the seats really hurts doesn't help the train bounced everywhere the locals dubed the class 483 the bone shaker for that very reason

Well, had an unexpected trip on one, and it is safe to say I can indeed sleep on most of the seats (if I have enough time to)

I maintain that ironing boards are comfortable.

The 159s are a bit like that. Things with the seats on trains is some are good and some makes you want to scream.
