Buongiorno a tutti, vorrei fare a Dovetail una domanda provocatoria: perché noi italiani dovremmo comprare un gioco parlato in inglese, con annunci in tedesco senza treno italiano e itinerario italiano? siamo davvero stupidi ti diamo i nostri soldi quando siamo dimenticati. Grazie a coda di rondine

First of all, please write in English

Second of all, the station announcements which you can hear in German on german routes exist, so that there can be more immersion
Although I don’t know why the game doesn’t have Italian language settings.
And there isn’t an Italian route existing yet, since a lot of new assets need to be made and the knowledge of building an Italian route isn’t there, too.

I can’t stand it when people say ‘write in English’
Do you not understand how difficult that is for some people?

I‘m sorry if I have offended you, but is it really hard to just put it into google translator?
(Damn, that also sounded bad, sorry)

I guess the answer to your question is why aren't italian game companies or UE programmers making Italian content (which woudl actually sell in the UK and elsewhere as well

And to be honest I would expect German station announcements to be in German, Italian station announcements to be in Italian etc so I don't think that's quite a fair point

Ho scritto in inglese ma non so perché ti mostra in italiano. dovresti anche ricordare a tutti i tedeschi polacchi russi che scrivono nella loro lingua in molti

For the first part forums are in English only makes it easy for those who do understand many of the different languages.

Second Google has a translator in which you can convert what you are saying in your language to English. You then copy and paste the English translation.

It also showed up in Italian for me, I think it’s not the first time something like that happened (I think it happened once to a german guy)

Oh, and I am German and I’m keeping to the rules

I imagine it's your browser rather than the forum, else we'd all be seeing it in English rather than it targeting just you

Either way, hopefully your question's been answered

Italian programmers are not needed to create at least Italian train scenarios. there are many games made in other countries but also fully translated into speech in almost all languages not problem!!

You aren't the first or the last to wish DTG would branch out from its "Big 3" countries and give us content from some of the other countries with cool railroads, from Italy and Spain to China and Japan.

My issue would be that if I was driving an Italian route I would expect the announcements to be IN Italian, not translated to whatever language I wanted... Different for things like in game announcements, training speech or especially text but station and train announcements are different

With regards to "Italian programmers are not needed to create at least Italian train scenarios", I generally think that local programmers with local knowledge would likely create a better product than random people from Chatham. This was kinda born out by the class 150/1 being semi-butchered by Rivet, with their devs stating they'd not been to Cornwall or ridden in a 150 before making it
and even on the stream last night the two hosts spoke at length about how they weren't train people and didn't know how things like signals worked... sigh
Much better to have locals who know what works and how to get things right

for the 3D of the locos and wagons it is sufficient to have the drawings or photos, the controls and the technical characteristics as they did for the English USA German material and the same thing for all the material. errors and internal loco info are in German on the ICE and other German trains. moreover TSW3 being programmed in a simpler way to be more compatible with the consoles, few commands are not very simulative so the problem of never having been on a loco is a fake. surely after upgrading from tsw2 to tsw3 I will not buy any DLC

Agreed, so long as reference material is available
Not really... the controls and how they interface with the drive can be very important, for instance any delays or interactions that are caused
Nah, I disagree. Hard to know what something sounds like and how it works without actually interacting with it, seeing it, feeling it etc.
Tech specs can only take you so far

I try to be polite but there are also many stupid and rude people in the forums. one may not agree but we should discuss by analyzing the facts. i always bought all the train simulators i started with the famous MSTS MicrosoftTrainSimulator and the Railworks series. apart from the graphic updates, nothing new

It’s not the name calling that rude. It’s the fact that I politely asked him to stop a few times and he blatantly carried on.

and how dare you say I’m the only rude person here. I’m clearly not am I

Why hasn’t been any Italian content made, why isn’t the game in Italian, why do the German routes have German announcements and why does the translator sometimes not translate

I feel like this thread has served its purpose, and has dissolved into squabbling. Locking now.

Whilst forum rules suggest posts are in English, I would ask that we treat players for whom it isn't their native tongue with respect, and with a little extra support if they need it.
