#1 - On the 146 and 185, what is the sound the locomotive is making when it hits 20 MPH (sounds like a 'woosh' effect followed by a faint, high-pitched whine)? Is that a traction motor or inverter sound?

#2 - When you hit the PZB acknowledge button in most of the modern German locos, what is the automated announcement saying? I hear it quite often in Railway Emotion's YouTube videos as well when he's driving leased German motive power.

    Thanks!

Not sure about number one, but I think it is the inverter turning DC into three-phase AC: the same process that creates the musical launch sounds of so many electric German locomotives.
For number two, the voice you're hearing is saying "Zugbeeinflussung", or roughly "Train influencing", and is often translated as "train control". It's the ZB in PZB (Punktförmige Zugbeeinflussung). So it is really just an acknowledgement that you are still in control of the train and paying attention.
