#1 Is it worth it or a waste of time? #2 Are there any broken achievements/trophies on job tasks/collectables for the route? By this I mean you get the all of the job tasks/collectables for the route but the achievement/trophy never shows up. If so to my last question: a) Which version(s) of TSW b) and which route(s) ? For example in TSW3 you can complete all training on SMH all you want but no achievement/trophy will ever pop up. For SMH, see REF https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/guide-on-route-acronyms.56183/ Please and thank you
1# it's a waste of time, but it is fun to visit all stations, walk along the tracks and look around for the scenery details. Finding collectables is a nice reword, but nothing more. BTW driving simulated trains is a waste of time as well of course, but can be great fun. #2 yes, sometimes they are broken, or the achievement is not working. #3 All versions, all routes starting with Sandpatch. But you do not always get an achievemnt and achievents do NOT transfer to a new version.
For me collectables are a nice way to revisit routes after finish all services and scenarios of all trains avaiable on it, i often find collectables in timetable mode when i have to wait some minutes before departing, on routes like bakerloo line where you have basically not enough time to exit the train and find all collectables at every station i use to find it on foot mode after all timetables are completed
To reduce the amount of time taken if there more than one version for the same route, collect all of them but not one. For example for HSC: #1 In TSW2 collect all of them but not the Tripod at HSC visitors center. #2 Close TSW2, import from TSW2 in TSW3 and collect that last one. #3 Close TSW3, import from TSW2 in TSW4 and collect that last one. #4 Close TSW4, reopen TSW2 and collect that last one. Profit
Of the newer routes (TSW3 through 5) none of the trophies are broken. There are some buggy ones on earlier routes. I like the collection process as it gives you a nice view of all stations. It has become a lot more manageable since the introduction of route hopping. Furthermore, a lot depends on where the collectibles are. On the TSW 5 routes that have a collectible trophy, all tasks are at or near the stations. On Cajon Pass for example, not so much: you have to drive a lot to get to most of the tasks.
Yep like sos in TSW2. There is bug/glitch that prevents one from showing up in Crewe Yard North - on PS4.
