I have been getting into scenario making mainly for route learning purposes and like the way you can plan stops and timings to your liking. I’m not fussed about AI schedule realism most of the time but find that placing AI takes 95% of the scenario creation time.

Would it be possible to create a Quick Drive option where you can nominate planned stops for your own service and then AI is generated automatically around that?

It would be good if you could nominate a time and a route via A, B, C from the main menu and then hit “drive” then enjoy the drive with AI. At the moment I find QD a bit pointless as it’s simply A to B either on the fast or slow line. So if you have an intermediate stop you can’t make it because you’ve only been routed one way.

In-game, no. However RWEnhancer 2 allows you to do this in a weird way, although I don't own it so I couldn't tell you how it works.

I don't really see the point in that. QD allows you to stop where you want and load passengers.
You're just not getting the information on the HUD - but when playing the sim without HUD it really makes no difference at all.

RWE2 gives you a timetable to follow, the game won't score you or penalise you for following/ignoring the RWE2 timetable, you can set it up and follow it.. Or not, just gives the player an additional choice of things to do I suppose.

Yeah, but if the game doesn't score of penalise - what's the point in adding a timetable? You can make your own decisions in QD.

    Think I answered that already didn't I?

The choice is already there, it's just there's no one explicitly telling you to do this. Left to your own imagination. For some that's fine, others do need instructions to enjoy the game.

I suppose one thing a timetable with intermediate stops can bring is the added guide on the HUD about upcoming stations you want to stop at and distances to them, for those who don’t know the route.

But on a good QD scenario that has GoVia's at each station, they are visible on the HUD route profile anyway :)

It came about after running along the ECML south and wondering how you could run fast to Peterborough but then route via some of the stopping platforms that might be bypassed in QD.

Build your own QD or run a freeroam.
