I have a third party route that I cloned and the route is fine. And I wanted to do a Quick Drive but I don't have any start/end points. I can do a QD on the Default route and chose stations to go between but the boxes are blank on the copied route. The cloning was done in the Build Menu and it asked it I wanted all the scenarios copied and I said yes so the QD option is there. Did I forgot to copy something else across between routes?
The problem is your cloned route has a new name. You need to go into the QD scenario and rename the route in there. Than it should work.
Do I rename it in the game editor or in the Scenario folder? Looked in both but not totally sure what I'm looking for? The route hex is different but it does not seem to be mentioned in scenario folder - that I could see. Also the standard scenarios appear in the normal drive menu.
Why all the cloning? All routes are safe from harm inside their MainContent.ap's, any changes will be saved in Network, Scenery, etc folders outside. To restore unwanted changes just delete these folders. Be aware that QD relies on the route GUID (hex), as the preloads have these stored to "know" which route the consists may appear on. So you have to add the cloned route GUID to all preloads you wish to use. I'm packing the route folders' contents into a MainContent.ap for each 3rd party or workshop route to preserve it from changes.
I have cloned the route so I can make some changes, mainly to the Signalling. I'm looking at putting OBB Signals on the route as they are easier for me to "read" than the default CFR Signals. Having changed some I wanted to do a Quick Drive to check they are working. I had done one PreLoad consist and I can pick that to drive along the route but the start and end location boxes are blank.
Hmm. Never cloned QD scenarios - but just as the issue you had before with GEML QD, this can be sorted. I'm just a bit busy on the TSW forums right now and then enjoying the sun
